Hey #1 Boxa, I could not agree more, and i could not be happier for Nader, he rang me just 45 minutes ago, the possibility of another genuine World title fight, is just too good to turn down.
I must say, i doubt there is an Aussie boxer more deserving of a World title fight than Nader, He has fought his heart out for years, sweated, toiled and never side stepped anyone, He is a true Gentleman outside the ring, and inside, he fights it hard, but is an honest and fair guy. I know he has lost his temper in the heat of the moment at times, but he is a real professional who gives his all, and I just hope this comes through for him.
In the meantime, #1 Boxa, you've hit it right on the head, it is a very risky fight for both boys, So well done to both teams for taking the plunge, as i see it, there is no loser, both are good fighter's with a real future, irrespective of what happens here, either one of them, can easily pick up the pieces, and move on again, after-all, it's not where you start, it's where you finish, and everything in between is a little give and take.
When we have match-ups like this taking place, it makes it great to be a supporter again, even though i often work on the inside of the ropes, I am still a fan first and foremost, and this is what the sport's all about, two good honest fighter's, testing their limits, not afraid of the possible outcome, prepared to fight the best, to see how far they can go in this sport.
Wow kylamy it's as if you read my mind with everything you wrote very true regarding Nader vs Robert Stieglitz in Germany it's definitely a huge ask of him as it was for Daniel geale when he done the impossible there is nobody in the fight game as humble and as down to earth as Nader I hope him and my trainer also Mighty" Mick Akaway and he has David bitchel in his corner so there hope there and they are winners already for taking the fight and having the guts to fight in Germany in such short notice. As for Blake and Rob kylamy has got it all righ with saying there is no real loser there they will both grow from the experience regardless of the result early days of there hoping to be a good long journey of success !
Hey #1 Boxa, you are in a good team down there, Michael is a very good and astute trainer, he is not as well known as some of the higher profile trainer's, but being unheralded like he is, he's not under any pressure, and from what iv'e seen of him, he is no nonsense and just gets on with it and gets the job done. The other thing is, he genuinely cares for his fighter's, you can see that, as you know, many trainer's are very brave from the outside of the ring, cos their not the ones getting punched, but not this guy, he has compassion, and shows lots of care for his boys.
I'm not sure whether it was to be announced this early, that Rob Stieglitz was the opponent Nader is fighting, I know he's a little frustrated just waiting for all the final documents to arrive, but it's a terrific opportunity, and while it will be a tough ask, it is not impossible, as i said in a previous post, no one is more deserving of a World title than Nader, so here's hoping and praying for him anyway.
Hey, good to see that Birchy is helping as well, He is another very experienced trainer, for his age, he is beyond his time, and is good for boxing mate, I know between the two of them, they can and will get the job done, so they're a good team, i must admit, i never knew they were teamed up and/or helping each other.
Most posters in here, appear to be genuinely excited, at this match-up between, Rob Berridge and Blake Caparello, I know i am, and let's hope there are more to come similar to this, as i said, Hats of to Brian and Barry for finding a way to make these fights happen, I know just how hard it is to get quality 50-50 fights to happen.
Many people in these forums are becoming disillusioned at the standard of Match-ups taking place, but sometimes, it is just impossible to get good fighters to fight each other, some, because of fear of their un-beaten records.
I swear, sometimes it's best for a fighter to get beaten in his first few fights, because then the so-called monkey, is off his back, he does not have a perfect record to protect and is willing to keep fighting all comer's, it's a sad reflection on the sport, that some of these match-ups take place.
However, pre-matched fights, have many reasons why, they fail to happen, injuries, accidents, and in some cases, being offered opportunities, that you sometimes just cannot say no to, Now take this case, Barry & Brian, never blued when called by Nader advising of this offer, knowing Baz, he would never stand in the way of any fighter's golden opportunity, such is the guy, if you know him like i do.
Anyway, it's all good, cheers guys, I for one, cannot wait for these fights to take place.
