Whens the prizefighter draw taking place Slap?

O'kane should win this one class above the rest IMO

Shame Heffron pulled out, I think he was the main rival to O'Kane. Hard to see past Eamon now.

I think the dark horse is Simon O'Donnell.

He is a good all rounder and can adapt to different styles.

Him versus JJ McDonagh would be an interested fight.

Looking forward to it Slap, be very interested to hear your assessment of the fighters, it will be far more knowledgeable than most of us I am guessing who have not seen much of the boys.

From the little I have seen and just looking at records, I kind of feel that Fitzgerald and O'Kane look as if one of them may win and also think O'Donnell may have a squeak but its never easy working off little footage and paper records.

Drop your views/assessments in if you get time, it may well dictate where my few quid ends up.

Eamonn O'Kane (currently Commonwealth Gold medallist),
Ryan Greene (unbeaten big ticket seller),
Simon O'Donnell (from Dale Youth, managed by Ron Boidy),
Anthony Fitzgerald (current EBA European title holder),
Darren Cruise (only representative from Connaught),
Joe Rea (just moved camp to Lancashire with Kevin Maree) and
Ciaran Healy (last replacement for Mark Heffron)

Well I'm not sure about that but it is the same Simon O'Donnell that was in Dale Youth with Groves and DeGale.

And not the Simon O'Donnell that has become a massive internet meme in Ireland due to his back-and-forth callout videos and remixes with Hulk Joyce's son Joe Joyce! But that deserves its own thread!

I didnt notice the Dale Youth bit,but im sure he beat Degale in some Amateur Junior ABAs(both dale youth) Poor Degale dont have much luck against club mates it seems

well its made O'Kane all right. But its genuinely fairly even across the board. Some of the Prizefighters have been weak and the level of entertainment/quality has been poor. But I can genuinely guarentee some wars in this especially if Anthony Fitzgerald and Joe Rea each other. I wouldnt be shocked if those pair kick off at the weigh in!

and hes two cosin came bk from london to fight joe joyce two sons joe and davy yestrday and had to draws,they will be on youtube later

To be fair im only picking OKane from his Am pedigree&hes fresh to the pro game,ive seen hardly anything of the other contenders at all

Not as much as I, he or his fans would like. A variety of reason. Pity. He is a good guy and a talented fighter. Has a touch of X-Factor about him as well but the clock is a tickin!
