Mallinaggi v Brook next?

Rumours about Brook getting an 'american name'. THe magic man has just schooled the ukrainian with an excellent display and now has a belt. Will Brook go out to the States to get a title shot? Eddie Hearn has got many of his boxers title shots recently and Brook is ranked number 3?

Seems like a perfect fight now? I think it would be a cracker and a great test for Brook.

Only way that would happen would be if Brook is the opponent for Malignaggi at the new big arena in Brooklyn. Malignaggi's next fight will be there.

Brook is rumoured to be fighting Carson Jones. Jones also fought this weekend, but only against a 12-6 opponent.

If US TV will show it, more likely Khan would face Malignaggi again, should he prevail against Peterson. WBA like Khan's $$$£££'s.

Mallinaggi will have bigger deals on table then facing Brook.

He could probably get million dollar paydays for facing the Berto-Ortiz winner or maybe even a Khan rematch.

Although i doubt it will happen but Mayweather vs Paulie would be entertaining just for the 24/7 which has been boring as shit for May-Cotto.

Khan won easily last time. Who wants to watch a second fight between them?

There are much better fights for both of them than fighting each other again.

Should be, Asif Malignaggi is on for any other big pay days like Ortiz and Berto they would tear him apart. So would Kell Brook IMO

Agreed, but Khan would see it as a comfortable 1st fight at 147 and for a title. Malignaggi may fight Alexander in August. Winner fights Khan. GBP keeps both fights in house.

Alexander vs Khan would be a good fight, but would Malignaggi vs Khan II get the viewing public interested?

I don't know what will happen, but I know that I don't want to see it again.

Lets be honest any of the top welterweights would de-throne Malignaggi no problemo :)

in fairness it was a pretty last minute edition and BN did send an e-mail through to subsrcribers telling them of the fight....it was on FB and twitter too so given the timing I think they did what they could.

Malignaggi is going to fight Alexander on 18th August, Brook is fighting Carson Jones on 7th July.

Hope Kell gets this fight the guy needs his opinion of british
fighters adjusted he has a decent ranking and will provide a good
test .
Mallinaggi is too soft an opponent for Kell at this stage and those asking for the match
should have a rethink IMO.
Carson Jones will get beat in style by Brook in Sheffield 7th July and when he does lets hope
he has the good grace to address his previous statements .

Malignaggi is currently any welterweights easiest route to a World Title, as Senchenko was before him.

It all depends what sort of path they have set out for Kell, do they believe he has what it takes to compete with the likes of Mayweather, Pacquiao and Berto? Or do they send him through Malignaggi and keep him away from top tier competition for the most-part of his career? I hope in Kells case it's the former.

I suppose it also depends on how much he believes in himself. The WBA title would also provide Kell with leverage when talking purses with larger draws.

Cant see him wanting to fight brookand i think even with
the belt its not the right route for Kell wouldnt shut up his
critics and Khan would have a field d
ay .

Was the boxingguru stream working well for you? It went to sh*t for me after the third round. Boxingguru is the most reliable boxing streamer I know of, but yesterday I was frustrated after seing Malignaggi do so well in the first 3 and then the stream going super-choppy.

I doubt Malignaggi will be fighting Brook next, as he just traveled far from home as an underdog and now is looking to defend the title in NYC. Paulie will likely be looking for a big name fight for high pay or take a lighter defense in front of a home crowd. Brook doesn't really fall into either of those categories.

Berto and Ortiz would most probably take Paulie out. I think Paulie would give Kell all kinds of trouble though. I'm still not sold on Brook yet. He still hasn't had a tough fight yet.

I would expect brook to win comfortably but you can never count out a vastly more experienced world class fighter schooling a rising star.

I actually also think Paulie has been alot better since his move to welter.

X2

Id expect Brook to win but not without being caused a few problems. Kell really needs to get a move on imo. He didnt box anyone with a winning record till his 14th fight and took a count against Karl David then. Since then hes played it relatively safe with a drained Elwell, cotey who boxed debitants and unknowns, Ndou whos on everyones list and Hatton that was a formality. The only fight i thought he could lose was to Micky Jennings, but even then Jennings may have seen better days. Im probably being a bit harsh on Kell but having seen him debut nearly 8 years ago (and i picked him as one to watch back then) i dont think he has made massive headway and i may be a little frustrated by this. No doubt he has the skills but he needs to get to the next level now and unleash all that potential.
