I Remember him fighting on his own show for the Light Middleweight Commonwealth title and he kept low blowing his opponent and was lucky not to be disqualified.
Notice he hasn't fought since. Any news?

I believe he has had an opp on his hands, been prone to hand problems, hits hard, but does sometimes try to smash through his oponenent sometimes catching elbows ect.. Exciting fighter though, much better boxer then he has shown recently, with the hand problems needs to box more, has a lot of quality in his possession, waiting for his hands to heal properly, hopefully he will be able to come back as the same fighter who was so highly rated.

Really like watching Jamie, I remember about 18 months ago there was talk of a cox v brook fight, just shows you how times can change so quick in boxing, I'd like to see Jamie join the tko gym in canning town with Jimmy and mark, I think he needs regular good sparring and most people in that gym are around his weight, hope the hands heal well and looking forward to seeing him again soon

I still hoping that Obodai Sai gets a rematch. Cox should have been DQ'd (twice) for me. Made us Brits look bad.

Unfortunately, there is no chance of a rematch.
That night Cox looked bad, the ref looked bad and the judges looked bad - and we still have commentators with the "our man is fighting abroad so needs a knock out to get a draw" mentality, when we should also be looking closer to home.
That was just a shameful result.

David Nevin, boxing out of Cavan BC (a cousin of two-time Olympian John Joe), once beat Cox as an amateur in a real war.
Sad to report that David died suddenly recently at the age of 25, a sad loss.
He was a Four Nations champion and a warrior in the vest.

He`ll come back better stronger & will continue to smash through whoever is put infront of him because that is what he does & yes because he has that ability. When Jamie needs to change things he`ll also have the ability to do that. I will make sure Jamie gets everything he needs to attain his goals. As for Jamies hand he`s`had surgery for the second time pins to be removed next week, surgery was carried out by the best man in the business so shortly back in action & looking for Bitish title quick time & quite frankly i don`t` see anyone standing in his way. Jamie shattered his hand in the third round against Obodai Sai a man who Joshua Clottey quoted as being very tough & used as top sparring partner for Clottey So for Jamie to fight for nine rounds with one hand can only be of credit to him. Jamie has fought his pro career with one & half hands he`ll fight the rest of it with two God willing.

I'd be very surprised if this plays out as you envisage. He's been a pro now for five years and considering the expectations when he first turned over his movement has been glacial.
Yes, some of that is down to his hands, but he's also frequently appeared over-eager in the ring and abandoned his boxing skill in favour of looking for a KO. His lifestyle outside the ring has been called into question as well in the past.
He's still young enough to come good, but I can't think of many examples of fighters who've had this sort of difficult prolonged period in their career and then been able to push through it to deliver on their promise.
Hope I'm proved wrong.
