is anyone else sick to death of theophane dissing british level fighters? Its not like he is world class,he fought delvin Rodriguez, chop chop corley and garcia but he only really won one of them cause he shouldnt of got the decision against delvin and got beat by a slow counter puncher in garcia. cant wait for his british title fight then he can fVck off back to the unknown cause no one outside of boxing knew him before he beat daws and no one will know him this time next month either. :OhYes:

It was Ben Murphy on the Chris Edwards- Shinny Bayaar 2 bill. Murphy up in Sunderland. He came for Nigel Wright because there was a problem with Wright's brain scan. But Murphy just kept charging forward and Theophane was not using the angles at all set Murphy up at all and was actually head on all three cards before Theophane stopped.

Eddie did I read on another thread your a relative or friend of Steve Williams?

I don't think Theophane has done too wrong. In terms of dissing British Level fighters, he has said he wants to move up a level and prove himself. He had the balls to go abroad and fight some top fighters in their backyard. Beating Corley and Rodriguez and losing on a SD to Garcia, whos the WBC Champ now isn't bad going. Rodriguez has a shot at the WBA coming up and he feels he's just as good as these fighters.

Heard he turned down a fight on the Mayweather-Cotto undercard so he could win the British belt outright. He could of quite easily left Williams in the lurch and got some exposure in the States off the back of Mayweather

you are right i am a very good friend of steve williams but i havent mentioned steve williams in this thread as its not just about him,its about lenny daws, benn murphy and all the other british fighters he has fought. if anyone believes theophane beat rodriguez then im sorry but you dont know boxing,he got beat in that fight,i watched it live on espn and every time i woke up (cause it was the most boring fight id ever seen)it looked like he was getting beat, garcia is a slow counter puncher and to be honest garcia is a different fighter now than he was then,he has became a world class fighter(ash i mean i proper world class fighter). anyway i just dont like the way he disses fighters as if he is world class ashley theophane isnt world class beating a washed up corley and rodriguez doesnt make you world class.

Think Williams has great chance in this fight personally. He just cannot afford to start slow or freeze which he seemed to do for me in his fight against Daws. Have taken the 4/1 Williams with Sportingbet for a few quid, its a closer fight that by a long way.

If he starts fast and keeps going I can see this being very close and feel he can win it but if he don't get out of first gear early on he will be chasing the fight all night.

like i said im a very close friend of steve and i know he is getting trained properly now,no disrespect to george schofield he done a good job with steve but dave tonks is getting steve faster, punching harder and being an all round better fighter with the style steve has, theophane best come prepared for a war cause steve wont slow down or gas out like most have against ash. put it this way steve is prepared for the best ashley theophane there can be,is ash prepared for the best steve williams? 4-1 its easy money for me thanks ash in advance :TU:

Whether it is Theophane more happy with the comforts and climate of the states, but he has looked poor as a British champion. Other than Macarinelli, Theophane looks the most beatable of all the British champions on current form.

He hasn't impressed me in his Daws or Murphy fight. I didn't see the Cook fight, but that didn't sound too great either.

no disrespect to cook but Ashley theophane picked the guy he thought would be an easy defence and all the while texting steve saying he would be his choice to fight him,he saw steve had on his Facebook that he was going on holiday in a few weeks before his first defence thinking steve would refuse the fight but ste doesn't refuse any fight and accepted the fight that day or the next day theophane came up with Hennessey and channel 5 think cook is better for tv saying channel 5 refused to have the williams vs theophane fight. and the rest is history, ash has been promising different fighters a shot and stringing them along like he is floyd mayweather or something. he isn't floyd, floyd has more talent in his left leg than theophane has in his whole body,so ash keep m-m-m-mumbling your sh1t in your interviews disrespecting british fighters when you haven't fought anyone of note yourself, aaarrrggghhh go on then ash tell me who you fought AGAIN corley, garcia delvin rodriguez we all know, there the only fighters you mention, what happened to fighting hatton after the bosworth fight?? did sky turn that down too wasn't hatton a big enough name for tv??

Mate I'd chill out a bit; you sound like you've got a real personal issue with Theophane which detracts from the credibility of the rest of your posts

Have always been a fan of Theophane and I do personally believe he's a bit better than the standard of fighters hes been facing as British champ. Concerning his fights in the US he certainly had a fair shout at getting the decision over Danny Garcia (more so than the Rodriguez fight) and his win over Chop Chop looks more than decent now considering how Corley has looked in a couple of recent fights.

He was very poor in the Murphy fight however it's bit harsh to give him too much stick for that. You couldn't get two more different fighters than Wright and Murphy.

Happy to see Steve Williams get his chance though, should give Ashley a good fight.

Fasteddie, you've not really had a good word about moat of the light welters on the somatic scene due to Williams being your mate. All that shite with Gavin a while back was bad enough but now you're laying into a bloke who's taken the path less trodden. You really need to give fighters more credit. If I'm being honest, your constant sniping at those people is making me want Williams to lose which is completely irrational

freddy you have the right to your opinion my friend and i have the right to mine, what i say on here is in defence of a friend who disses no one and keeps things professional, when i was have a tit for tat with gavin i was replying to a post which said by gavin something like "williams will be an easy nights work" or something like that and with this post im defending the british level fighters against theophane's constant jibe that his level is world class and the british fighters are a level below him, williams got brought into this post by someone else i was just answering a question. ashley theophane is a good fighter and i thought he was a good fella too but after him posting constant interviews slagging steve off i had enough and ive changed my mind on him. its nothing personal ash if you read this by the way im just putting you straight on a few things. you are a good fighter but 3 fights in the states doesnt mean your world class and freddy i dont mean to piss people off but its a forum were people post their thoughts on how fights are gonna go and topics of the time. this is my last post about this issue cause seems like people can write shit about other fighters but when a friend of a fighter defends abit of slating you get abit touchy,go on World Boxing News and you will see why i post things like this.
