Hatton says it all.....
"Junior Witter was scheduled to fight him on the undercard of my fight with Tackie but he pulled out with an injury. I'm not sure what Witter injured but after I watched Pinto's knockout compilation on tape I've got a good idea of what he ruptured!
What a beauty of a quote.

What I have seen is the surface area his ribs present. The guys like 30% ribs!!. This has to work in Hatton's favour.
But agree with you on 1 point, can't wait for the fight.

NO Hatton is fighting for the WBO int title
Warren must of brain washed hatton, he knows if he wins this title he wont fight the following, Mayweather, Gatti, Zoo, Cotto, looks like Hatton hasnt watch Calzaghe career lately.

yeah thats the thing that annoys me about this fight

that wbo interim tag :x so that means hattons gonna win that bloody wbo title

and is never gonna take on the big fish in the division he'll just end up making god knows how many defences in the men arena.

WATCH MY LIPS..................

IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN,hatton was the No 1 for the WBO for a year before witter and he never fought for it.
Now answer me this ,the interim title is for when the champion cannot defend the belt due to injury, Judah isnt injured,he is due to fight Cory Spinks 10/4/04.
Now if he wins he may give up the WBO light welterweight title if he loses which he may well do that leaves the winner of Pinto/Hatton to fight.
Can you see hatton fightin Judah? I doubt it!
Dont be surprised if between now and the next few weeks for some reason the Pinto fight gets binned.
Frank usually always gets publicity by announcing a decent fight for hatton then changes the ooponent closer to the date.
How many times did we hear Frank say hatton wouldnt be fighting Phillips then he did.

Interesting post. We kind of said the same thing about Ben Tackie in the build-up to his December fight with Hatton, but to some surprise, it went ahead and The Hit Man passed his toughest test to date in style.
But there's no doubt Pinto is a surprise choice of opponent for Hatton, given his unbeaten record and formidable looking power. Has Showtime finally put its foot down and demanded this kind of opponent for Ricky! I don't know. I do know Pinto is the first unbeaten fighter Hatton will meet (if it comes off) since Tommy Peacock five years ago.

Actually Bennie after speaking with a few people it seems that of all the possible opponents this Pinto looks like the easiest on paper.
Mitchell,Judah,Cotto and Pinto so maybe Showtime may have put their foot down.Makes u wonder tho why its not cotto and hatton as he is the No 1 WBO ranked fighter.
Either way Frank cant lose whoever wins he will have them under a promotional contract anyway.

True. Frank likes to have it all sewn up.
As for Ricky's choice of opponents, it jars that Sharmba Mitchell, holder of a proper world title of course (albeit the interim IBF title), fights on the same bill against someone other than Ricky. Frank's explanation as to why they won't meet on the show is hollow to say the least (he says he wants to introduce Mitchell to the British public first).
Pinto's a good opponent, but at the end of the day, the WBO title is the WBO title. Naff.
Oh well, nothing's perfect.

How do you see the Hatton-Pinto fight going, Guru?

by Dynamite Dean Phillips
Pinto's record looks impressive with 11 wins inside the first round, but most of his inside distance wins have come against novices. If his record on Boxrec is anything to go by, his last opponent only had 5 fights (1 win and 4 losses). Only 4 of the opponents he has fought have got decent(ish) records.
Having said that, I have not seen the guy in action. Anyone else seen him fight here?

Must have been Pinto first fight that he watched then and not his last one. Going to be a surprise in store for the hitman. Ricky runs, but he can't hide forever.

I cant see HATTON stopping the guy but HATTON will prob win on points.
PINTOS record is pretty hollow.
Frank isnt stupid unless HATTON is in there with a 80-20 chance the fight wouldnt happen.

What the ????? Sure, Ricky is going to be running, that's really his style...
I for one haven't seen Pinto, but come on, the best guy he's beat is Augustus, hardly a bloody world beater....

Yes I agree, Pinto definitely looks a live one.
Great fight, and I think it happens.
Also agree with the theory that Frankie has decided it's piss or get off the pot time - he wants a real(ish) world title for Hatton.
At least something a little more credible than the WBU.
( And the WBO ensured guys like MAB + naz got big fights, after all)
So it's difficult bouts with guys like Gatti, Tszyu, Zab......or an unproven guy like Pinto: no contest really, and worth the risk.

It's kinda funny how you all hold Ricky up as the next best thing since slice bread. He signs a fight with some one who, not too many of you have seen fight and you say the kid has no chance of beating Ricky. Well if that is the case, how do you call this fight a stepup on the world stage? I have seen Pinto fight a couple of times and I think you are under estimating him and you might be in for a surprise come fight time.
I also find it funny that most here, don't give Lovemore Ndou much of a chance against Ricky either. Funny how he now has turned down three chances to have a fight with Ndou.
Keep him safe fellows. Lord knows, Warren does.

Dude agree with you pinto is being underestimated, i think Pinto is a lot more a live threat than Spadafora or Ndou, however you seem to be knocking hatton and praising Pinto in the same breath, surely if Pinto is that good you should be saying well ok, its a dangerous fight well done for taking it? I mean if pinto is that good as you say he is how the eff is Hatton being protected?
Who would you like him to fight if not? Gatti , come on that guys taken enough punshment already and his style would be made for hatton, Cotto niether camp needs to make this fight just yet and watch their prize assets decline in value as one must lose, Kostya is injured, Witter is full of shit and Mitchell, well dont be surprised if that happens before the end of the year? Who else is more of threat please inform me cos Im running out of possible opponents.
I think its a good match up, just cos we dont know that much about Pinto doesnt make him crap . From what Ive read and hear he is a dangerous opponent.
