Has a British boxing promoter ever considered making an event FREE to attend and trying to recoup 'losses' which for most poorly attended weekly shows would probably be miniscule through sponsorship and TV money? Is it possible?

that would actually be a great scenario- I don't think it would happen but if it did brill-more interest for next event!! Or you could have application via the internet or telephone.

Why bother with any crowd at all? Having 1000 people turn up incurs costs in terms of venue hire, security etc.

The bare knuckle vale tudo promotion Rioheroes used to do good PPV numbers with live streams of novices fighting out in a basement.

thats actually something ive considered too , still in a venue with limited numbers but for ppv stream at a reduced price being the main revenue

Wow.... so basically the way forward is to fornicate the board off, fornicate broadcasters off, fornicate the crowd off and just get a bunch of local nutters to punch each other pudenda in, in my garden and stream it.

not quite what i had in mind , personally i do think a small hall show could be done in this way , would maybe take a bit of figuring out to work out how to get the boxers selling the stream tickets , maybe have a code on the tickets that they could imput that has a scratchcard type thing on to keep it hidden until purchased ?????

I once bought a stream of a Russian show where you texted a number and the charge went on the phone bill then you got a code to access the stream texted back to you.
