I had no idea he was eligible...

Why not - he was born within the sound of Bow Bells wasn't he ? (at least I think that is what Andy Lee's dad told the BBofC anyway ..............)

Of course, Durres, Albania is within walking distance of the Bow Bells....

He's fought for the Southern Area title before, and has based himself out of the UK for years. I think you might have to be eligible for a UK passport to fight for the Lonsdale belt, but not sure that applies to the regional titles..
