Who can apply as a creative and sporting worker?

Before you apply under the creative and sporting worker category, you must have:

a sponsor; and
a valid certificate of sponsorship.
Before assigning your certificate of sponsorship in the sporting sub-category, your sponsor must have an endorsement for you from the governing body for your sport, which confirms you meet the governing body's requirements to give their endorsement. The governing body must be recognised by us. Find a list of sports governing bodies.

Where this becomes interesting is that the governing body AS RECOGNISED by the UK Border Agency is ...the BBBofC

I'll admit I wasn't the one who spotted it, I stole it from someone on ESB so credit to them.

Are there any precedents across other sports? I'm thinking things like NFL and NBA who have had events in London but surely the UK recognised authority is the British/Englaish association? I guess they'd happily sponsor the American guests in those cases though.

They can apply for a visitor visa in a paid engagement capacity here:

They don't need bbbofc approval for this, criteria "You must be invited by a UK-based arts or sports organisation or broadcaster to carry out an activity related to your profession in the arts, entertainment or sports. This may include fashion models coming to the UK to undertake a specific engagement, providing they do not intend to base themselves in the UK long-term."

The "or broadcaster" part is where allegedly would step in.

It's not sunny today mate. It's a good excuse to get some writing done though.

Regarding the Luxemburg board, I know the BBBofC is not perfect and I do have a go at them a bit on here, but this Lux thing means that if a promoter doesn't like the BBBofC decision on anything, they can switch. So, lets say the BBBofC won't sanction an opponent, then the promoter can just switch. Danny Williams, Evander Holyfield and Butterbean are all welcome.

What do you think mate?

Think that will happen plus more unwanted titles. Also another board with their British champ. Less of the best fighting best domestically not the way forward.
