Berridge is always a chance with his above average power, but i just can't see Blake fighting Berridges fight and allowing Berridge to force his fight.

I see Blake outboxing him, but not without a couple of rounds going to Berridge.

Rob will have to hustle Blake from the first bell, cant really afford to sit on the outside and look for that one big looping left as Blake will pick him off! Good fight and like dawg mentioned with Berridges better than average power hes in the fight till the final bell! I just feel Blake will take it on the cards and depending how aggressive he decides to be will depend on wether he gets a late stoppage!

Blake UD points or maybe if rob cAn come away with a shocking upset like he did in the broadhurst fight with landing his power shots a puncher always has a chance in a longer distance fight..But go Blake :bag:

Joel Casey went the distance with Brad Pitt but at the end of it looked like he lost a litre of blood in the fight.

Pitt cut him about both eyes with punches. The result was never in doubt aided by Pitt knocking Casey down in the third round.
Everybody was surprised Bulner did not stop the fight.

Kick boxer Hakan Tekin, with a beard to rival Ned Kelly, celebrated his boxing debut by stopping Paul Watson in the first round.

Tekin's style strongly resembles a windmill but it worked tonight.

Up and coming 20 year old middleweight Dwight Ritchie comfortably outpointed Michael Hermann.

Ritchie dropped Hermann at the end of the first with a beautiful right uppercut but the referee thought it may have been late and did not count it as a knockdown.

Caparello by unanimous decision. Berridge landed a lot of punches on Caparello's guard and threw a lot of big punches that landed short but Caparello made good use of his reach and kept calm through the fight.

There were crying Kiwis at ringside but that was their problem.

Sounds like it was a solid fight. Any rounds go to Berridge?

He won a few, but his lack of reach worked against him.

A bit closer than the scorecards indicated, especially when one judge who scored Blake only losing one round. 5 rounds to Blake, 3 to Robert and 2 even about sums it up.

Caparello found Berridge a cagey fighter and respected the Kiwi's hitting power. A rematch must be on the cards.

It was a good fight, tactical for the first few rounds then the boys started to open up abit in the closing rounds. Im a kiwi, and like the rest of the kiwis I know wanted Berridge to win. However I had no problems with the scorecard of 97-95, however 97-93 and 99-93 were to wide IMO. 97-95 was about right. Berridge had Balkes respect with his power, and he proved awkward and cagey but Caparello was just a bit more polished in his performance.

A rematch would be a good option for both perhaps over 12 with something meaningful on the line. Certainly Rob's stocks havent fallen after this performance, if anything hes cemented himself as one of the Top Light-Heavyweights in the Region.

I am a little puzzled by Berridge's ranking as no 1 New Zealand light heavyweight. Pownceby has a 19-0 record against better opposition and is only ranked number 3. How does that work?

Obviously with boxrec the way guys earn points etc sometimes its not always whos the best but who beat someone with the most points etc (im still working out the boxrec point scoring system myself)

But Berridges KO win over Broadhurst earned him a number of points, Soul has fought 2-3 decent guys without beating any trus prospects Letoa and Casey are solid, tough customers.

Pownceby has his sixth 12 rounder coming up. He holds a WBO regional title. What has Berridge got? Last night was his
first ten rounder.

Not defending the rankings mate, but Berridge's Win over Broadhurst and Draw with Foley (a win he was robbed of) probably pushed him up in regards to how the Boxrec scoring works.

I watched it live but was p1ssed so couldn't comment. Just seen the fight in full, and I think Caperello won by a round. He is a little more refined and boxed nicely off the ropes. 99-93 Mr Westerman was you drinking aswell? Slow fight but the last two rounds were cracking. Love to see a re-match.

I have no doubt there will be a rematch. It was a well matched fight.

A rematch would be a good result for fans. But it will largely depend on where Caparello's people see him heading.
