Joseph Parker.

Hasn't given up on being at the London Olympics. Last week he won a tournament in Serbia beating Oceania Australian qualifier Johan Linde in the final. He also beat World Championship bronze medalist Ericke Pfeife in the semi final. If he doesn't get one of the wildcard birth's apparently he's turning pro on the Cameron-Barrett undercard. A part of me wants him not to get one, he'll be a great prospect for N.Z pro boxing, but either way he's only 20 so exciting times.

His chances of a wildcard are slim, given hes already stated he'll go pro if he doesnt get one.

Parker at only 20 would in my personal opinion be better served to fighting on the amateur circuits WSOB, where he could potentially earn a decent packet while gaining valuable international experience. A shot at Gold in 2014 Commonwealths would be a good platform to launch his pro career from with another 2 years of good experience under the belt.

Always great to see young upcoming heavyweights. He is a decent heavyweight. He is a BIG boy and can certainly bang.

Cant wait to see him in the ring next month.

Parkers skill set is vast, lets hope that he has the right management and is marketed well... with so much potential and ability who knows where he could go.

I do hope Parker does well, I also hope he builds slowerly and isnt rushed. I also hope he gets a Good trainer behind him, and they keep the team small and trusted.

He has solid financial backing from Sir Bob Jones so that is a good start!!

Look forward to it. I'll be in Malaysia or Thailand. Hopefully Thailand the internet is slow in Malaysia. Are you in Jason Williams corner on friday?

Ah that's bad to hear about Williams. Iakopo and Wilson give it there all though, am looking forward to it, hopefully it's over 6. It's about time Joey Wilson was back in the ring and if he does fight Haumono on the Cameron/Barrett card it's best to have a tune up. On the internet thing I reckon it's more about controlling the masses, Malaysia is very muslim and things like boxing, sex and drinking (all the good things) are controlled. I don't even think boxing is legal in Malaysia.

Can i ask........WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MALAYSIA!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

On a serious note, yes Shame about Jason he will however fight July 27th in what will be a tough fight! Iakopo and Wilson will be interesting on paper you'd think Wilson would have to win but Iakopo has cause taller guys problems in the past hes tough, and always keeps comming!! And has good power for a smaller heavyweight!

My friend owns a guest house in Melaka, Malaysia. I'm in S.E Asia for 3 and a half months. 6 weeks Malaysia, 4weeks Cambodia and 4 weeks Thailand, where I'll hopefully catch a few fights (I really want to see Chonlatarn Piriyapinyo) I don't like the kiwi winters and my work runs out as well. So works out nice.

The kid has a great record but cant say he's fought any world class opposition! Having made a number of WBO Asia-Pacific defences id imagine hed have been pretty close to a World title fight within the WBO, seems they are now moving onto the WBC Asian Boxing Council!!

If your a lighter guy trying to rack up some quick fast wins spending 18months-2years in Thailand wouldnt be a bad idea :-)

Julio Ceaser Chavez took a similar route (without all the silly titles and title defences) and was 43-0 without fighting anybody of note before his WBC title shot. Guess I'm just hoping he's the new J C Superstar
