Just wondering, as I've been a bit baffled to be honest by the reporting of it.

I was there, and I had it quite close. I know the media types sat around me felt the same, that it was a tricky one to score with Witter pressing but Lynes doing the cleaner work.

Actually it was a bad clash of styles, Witter leaping in all the time and the two just tying each other up. But Lynes did land quite a few quality shots and rocked Junior a couple of times, and a lot of Witters work was landing on arms and elbows. I thought it might go to a split or something with the champ getting the benefit.

Then I was surprised when I read the press yesterday, reporting that Witter was always in control and rarely troubled. Too classy for Lynes, etc etc.

Anyway, I think Lynes has been a bit hard done by. It might just be one of those fights that I saw different to everyone else, I don't think it was easy by any stretch for Witter though.

I don`t think I could watch a full 12 rounds of Witter. His style is awful to watch and from the two or three rounds they showed on Channel 5, I didn`t see anything to change my mind.

It`s all grappling and jerky. Boring as hell.

I thought Witter landed most of the cleaner shots. They showed the round highlights on the screens in between rounds and it was usually Witter landing clean and Lynes missing. I don't recall Witter being rocked.

i was there and thought it was one of the worst british title fights ive seen for a long while.

was messy but had witter just edging it so 115-114 score most realistic for me.

when he lunges and kept picking him up i thought he was going to end up out of the ring again like prizefighter - think any decent welterweight should be looking to face Witter.

Frankie Gavin, Denton Vassell, Lee Purdy etc

@pugilist - yeah he defo did, there was 1 round think it was the 9th where Witter leapt straight into a right hander and his legs nearly went.

@bigb - yep messy but close is how i saw it.

Eubank makes for an entertaining scrap doesn't he.

Witter v Hatton looks an inevitable outcome of this to me. Long way down for Matt from heights of last 12 months but he would presume to be favourite and would sell on nostalgia if nowt else.

Ah well, anyway point was I had it closer than the papers are reporting it. Can't say i'd like to sit thru it again mind.

I didn't but I remember the first fight and that was a mess and close again, I couldn't go through that again especially now that they are older and not as good even.

I spoke with Dominic Ingle yesterday and he had Witter winning by ten rounds.
Gavin and Hatton were both discussed as potential opponents in his first defence.

Is that mathematically possible with no knockdowns or deductions?

What about a Junior Witter - Curtis Woodhouse fight? I am not sure if welterweight is too big for Curtis but it would be a good local seller and give him the change to fight for the british title.It would also give Junior a profile fight as well.

120-110 if Lynes shared 2

I thought he used to be ok to watch, not so good now days, but if he fights Gavin on m hatton it will still sell tickets !

Yes he was watch able when I think he had the run of 13 ko and beat some top lads in doin it Gavin and hatton mmmmmmm would it sell I reckon no ?
