Just wanted to mention Kid Galahand. I thought he put up an excellent performance on saturday and although his opponent was limited, he got the job done and looked very sharp, sleek and skillful. That was Barry's eleventh straight win i believe and i am quite impressed by him. I am quite looking forward to Barry joining the trio of other super-bantams, Quigg, Munroe and Frampton. I think Barry will fair very well against these guys and i can see him fighting one of them inside his next three fights. I think he is onto a winner being on channel five at such an early stage in his career and getting good exposure from fighting on shows that are televised live on saturday evenings. Hopefully he will begin to build a bigger support base and be up there wih Kell in a few years time.

I have a lot of time for Barry, he is a nice kid, got the right attitude, nice and confident but not an arrogant arse. He always comes across well and seems to be gaining even more belief and confidence in himself and i think he has improved a fair bit since i first saw him on Channel five. I like what i see regards his style which has all the traditional Ingle hallmarks. He is fast, puts his punches together well, can switch stance, pot shot and has lovely balance and good ringcraft. My only reservations are that he doesn't seem to have a great deal of power, but maybe that will develop more with time. He also seems to be wide open for the right hand down the pipe and i can see him shipping some left hooks as he relies on dodging punches rather than having a tight hands up defence.

Early days yet, but i like what i see and will support this Kid (No pun inteneded 8)

yeah barry is doing well so far, only downside to him is his lack of pop

whilst not having an 'equalizer' he does wear people down with accumulated punches as was the case on saturday night, to stop josh wale you are doing pretty well!

galahad has not been dealt an endless stream of 'tarts and nancies' as opponents unlike other so called 'names' in his division. i can only count 4 walkovers on his record, and im not being disrespectful to the journeymen when i say that.

i agree he is being matched tough which he said he wanted, i just hope should he lose he doesnt pull a nas and retire and has the mental strength to come back as i love the ingle style (i think om one of the few people who enjoyed watching witter) and he seems a likeable and hasa just on right side of cocky attitude

To be fair, whilst I agree that Carl Framptons opponents haven't been good enough in relation to the praise he is getting and being labelled as the next big thing at world level etc, I do think that since and including Voronin, his only substandard - beyond domestic title challenger - level opponent was that Chacin guy.

Voronin (back then, okay since he's been on a terrible run), Reid, Turley, Hughes, Quon etc would probably all start favourite against Wale.

Similarly I don't think you can really complain with Quigg resume since mid 2010 - when he was only 21.

All three are progressing well, we aint going to see them against Donaire in a hurry.

quigg v munroe will tell us a lot, i class both of those 2 ahead of galahad and frampton at the moment, munroe is 'the daddy' at present. can quigg live with him?

I was impressed on Saturday, he worked well on the outside and inside. He stayed in the punching zone and had the confidence to exchange punches , he moved well when needed and had better accuracy than in some of his earlier fights. He reminded me of Colin McMillan.

I like him as a fighter. Has good skills and punch variety. Good speed, too, I am just not sure he has enough about him to go 'all the way'. Apart from punching power, he appears to 'lack something' which I can't put my finger on. On the other hand, it might just be, learning as he goes against tough fighters with ambition, is hard going, so it is only natural to assume he will only get better. Credit to him, Brendan and Mick for doing it the right way. Hopefully 'the cream will rise to the top'.

Barry took up boxing in Sheffield though

I got around to watch it on Sunday night, and it was a very good performance from him. He showed terrific handspeed and picked his shots very well and showed good defence and footwork to create angles against an opponent who was coming forward in straight lines. Although at times he seems to be headhunting too much once he had cut Josh Wale. However I was impressed with the performance and keeps himself in the mix in what is a very competitive Super-Bantam division here in the UK.

there's certainly an interesting mix at 122lbs
