Sorry for this thread but I just want to confirm this to stop all rumours that it is on allegedly being streamed etc. It is not on any tv channel as it would have cost me money to put it on tv which was not an option for our point of view.

That is shame Steve, any chance of a stream via youtube or is it a ticket only viewing option?

1) I was hoping to have sold out by now but with the original postponement from 14th April we had posts on here and all over the net saying Audley would not come over etc and we lost some momentum. We have 20 ringsides left (15 returned today by a home boxer) and 15 VIPs left plus about 90 unreserveds. Once Audley comes over Saturday should sell out next week.
2) Live streaming was not an option due to the cost involved. I have put on a very expensive show and with no backing cannot afford to spend money on streaming for no reward. The show has some REAL 50/50 undercard matches so we hope we have done enough to encourage people to come.

Finally everyone is welcome to the press conference and weigh ins next week.

Not taking the piss here , genuine question , How much does it cost generally for a live stream via youtube ? or does anybody else know ? ive live fed within the venue on my unlicensed shows but id assume its a bit more technical and costly , as you rightly say Steve it doesnt appear to be a cheap show to have put together and can understand your reasons for not having a stream being as its not a priority cost , benefits must far outweigh the cons to be worthwhile doing , which is unlikely to be the case here .

Depends on the quality you want but to get really good quality you are into five figures incl production.

This made no sense for me for no return.

I really wish i could come but its just too far for me, ive been looking forward to it, maybe someone will film it

Will there be any camera's there at all (I mean are you getting a camera man). Just wondering if there will maybe be an option to purchase a video/dvd of the show for those who cannot make it.

This is a massive show to put on without any TV.... NO other Promoter would..
Will you have a Contract with AH after this fight, if all goes wrong and he beats Ali? I can only think it must of been a Crazy Amount of Money to get him over here.. You have a plan to get your Money back...

How much are the unreserveds steve?

In answer to the two questions:

1) I know how promoters work but I felt it would be immoral to take options on Audley as I am Ali's promoter and I think also of him as a friend. This is about giving him a chance and me backing him to do it not me covering myself if he does not. There is no other agenda. Yes you are right this has cost me but it shows boxers what I am prepared to do.
2) Unreserved tickets are £40 available at www.goodwinpromotions.co.uk

Actually there is NO REAL COST involved in live streaming especially if you did it on USTREAM or YOUTUBE, you could easily get a professional cameraman with their own kit for something like £250 to come along and film it live straight onto his laptop which would be sending the feed Live to Ustream or Youtube. You may not get Sky tv quality but you'd get 1000s of people watching.

If there's no chance of Live Streaming then my personal view would be that if you want Ali to get as much publicity as possible then i'd get a good cameraman with a high quality HD camera to film it and put it on youtube immediately after the fight.

I would love someone to recommend a top quality camera team with top quality equipment and quality production for £250. If you can supply this for me for future shows let me know!! Will not happen.

We are not interested in poor quality recordings on line.

Costs me more than that just for live feed in the venue , and i shopped around too .

I think people dont realise that when you want to put something out on television there are a lot of additional costs, its not just a couple of guys and their cameras.

Lots of additional man power and equipment, including and not exclusively:

You need someone to switch between the camera angles = a director/producer

you need runners to manage the cable and of course the "guys and their cameras"

Mixing desk and an outside broadcast truck if going satelite or a mixing desk and a really stable internet connection if streaming.

You need a lighting rig which is a couple of grand minimum for tv quality including the rigging and crew.

You need commentators and then additional expense in equipment for them.

You can probably get televideo in for about 20k for a 4 hour record. Peanuts :)


Even getting a smaller crew in on non-highdef kit your into 5-7k just to put it out over ustream/youtube.


Unless someone else is paying all of the above and making it worth your while (taking into account all of the space you lose which could have seats in their place) then i think personally you have made the correct decision in not going the tv route.

Oh and lastly, having it on tv will effect ticket sales so having a double whammy of costing a fortune for production and having people staying at home instead of buying tickets.

It is being recorded but when/if/how it will be shown has not been decided. We may have exclusivity deal from the USA only.

Just to go back to my '£250 idea' to record it and put it on Youtube i was just giving you the cheapest option possible and was thinking you could get some University kid filming it with a Canon 5D mark 2 which is just about the best HD camera you can get(although the Mark 3 has just come out) and send the feed live to ustream or delayed on Youtube. Obviously it's going to lack the professional standard of sky/allegedly cards but it's better then nothing. I'm sure if you checked some London universities with Media departments you could even get them interested in bringing in a whole crew of students with mixing board, lights and sound equipment to do it for next to nothing as it'd be a unique opportunity for them to work on a live sporting event great experience and you'd be surprised the standard they'd produce.

I can tell you from experience that exclusivity deals may get you a few bucks short term but if the fights not out there on media sites like Youtube for fans to watch then it'll be hard to get Ali known by the public especially if he wins the fight.

Anyway i hope you sort out something as i'm sure alot of people who cant attend the fight will be interested in watching it later.

Do an online file download for £2 or something per download and e-mail and encrption password or would that be too expensive?

Trust me we have looked at all options. Everyone must keep in mind this no ordinary non tv show. I have had to pay Audley to come over from America one week before the fight. My priority is for people to attend the event. There has been no viable tv offer and I will not be streaming. I personally feel small hall shows are struggling around the country with boxers being forced to sell tickets to keep shows alive whilst boxing fans look for free options via streaming without contributing towards the sport. This is my personal views and I am interested only in those that want to support the event not those wanting some free or cheap stream.

fair play if it was closer i would be there but its the opposite end of the country from me so cant afford it as well as going to see froch in nottingham (though they are in same night but you know what i mean) and going to sheffield to watch kell brook. i wish there was more small hall fights near me but preston is few and far between and blackpool is full of white collar stuff which seems to have killed smaller shows off there

Its true a lot of boxing fans dont seem to actually want to support the sport. Im trying to get some people to together to go down, didnt realise it wasnt on tv.

Steve please do a show like this in blackpool, im sure it would sell well

Very valid point Steve. Hatton.tv have done some cracking shows VIA YouTube for the small hall promoter but to my knowledge they have been sell out or close too when they have gone live. It's a double edged sword, as small hall promoters need to keep expenditure to a minimum but get maximum exposure for any prospect they have an investment in. Just for the record I would have paid a small levy to view this VIA an online outlet.
