David Price and £50,000

So a punter had £50,000 on Price to win in 4 rounds...What sort of return would he/she (most likely the former) got?
I suppose that gave him the leeway if there were any 'accidents' in the earlier rounds, dookus wrote:To be fair, the bet was 'inside 4', not 'in round 4'

I thought it was only illegal for a boxer to bet on himself to lose?kingfinn wrote:The Insider wrote:If I had 50k at my disposal I'd have done the same (probably not inside 4 though). I had a sizable bet on the stoppage @ 4/9. It's not unheard of for boxers to lay a few quid on themselves.

Dont think so, they investigate haye because they thought he may have bet on himself to win in the 3rd against harrison.Sportofkings wrote:I thought it was only illegal for a boxer to bet on himself to lose?kingfinn wrote:The Insider wrote:If I had 50k at my disposal I'd have done the same (probably not inside 4 though). Fair enough, it would be a bit hard to trace if someone put a bet on for a fighter, on the fighters behalf though wouldnt it...kingfinn wrote:Dont think so, they investigate haye because they thought he may have bet on himself to win in the 3rd against harrison.Sportofkings wrote:I thought it was only illegal for a boxer to bet on himself to lose?kingfinn wrote:

I used to work in a bookies, which put me off anything other than 'fun bets'. The amounts I have seen people lose and then thier faces afterwards, it's just not worth it. Rule number one of gambling, only ever gamble what you can afford to lose!Livingstone Cole wrote:When I worked at a pub in Sheffield in 2002, some bloke bet £15,000 on France to beat Senegal.
That put me off ever betting more than £50 on anything.
He was distraught, came into the pub and looked like he was contemplating suicide.
I think it may have been his life savings.
indeed i put 10 on skybet 4 years ago and now have the princly sum of 39£ from fun bets and small flutters i wont bet any money out side thatTheCobra wrote:I used to work in a bookies, which put me off anything other than 'fun bets'. One of the managers at a company i used to work for took his stores cash takings for the days and put it on the dogs and lost, he offered to pay it back in instalmentsAdamj1987 wrote:indeed i put 10 on skybet 4 years ago and now have the princly sum of 39£ from fun bets and small flutters i wont bet any money out side thatTheCobra wrote:I used to work in a bookies, which put me off anything other than 'fun bets'. Good point.MachoMan09 wrote:Always bear in mind that some huge bets are other bookies laying money off. If they've taken a lot of money in smaller bets on an inside 4 rounds victory, for example, they may look to protect themselves by backing the same outcome with other bookmakers.
Or lay it off with a bookmaker that offers better odds.MachoMan09 wrote:Always bear in mind that some huge bets are other bookies laying money off.
