It's one I'm really torn on. Logic says Haye would be too experienced and fast but given Price's sheer size, explosive power and arguably superior technique I'd make it a 50-50.

Thoughts

For me its an obvious Haye win but in 2 years , maybe i would think very differently .

Although both are said to have questionable chins on here, haye has proved his to an extent in fighting Wladimir , wheras theres still question marks over Price until we see him in with a big hitter

Haye wins easily... I like Price and think he has a bright future if he is matched well, but right now he needs more rounds before we can make any real judgement call on how he would fair against world class opposition.

I disagree that Haye wins easily. I think he probably wins but he'd find Price a nightmare to deal with given his size and power. Haye for me would have to box very defensively as if he got into a toe to toe slugging match with Price I'd take Price to stop him. Either way an intruiging fight.

Well, McDermott managed to land a meaty shot in the first round against Price if I remember correctly and Sexton landed one or two decent shots also. Haye is light years ahead of these offensively, so I think he would land something huge at some point. I cannot see Price taking Haye's power so I plump for a Haye stoppage, quite early, at the moment.

Can't ever see them fighting though.

I've heard a couple of people say this, but I've watched the fight a few times and can't see it. I saw McDermott land a couple of jabs and graze him (at most) with two overhand rights.

I like Price a lot, great punch variety for such a big man, but I do think he drops his left hand too much when throwing the right

Are we under the assumption that Haye actually tries to throw a punch here?

If so, you've got to think he could hurt Price.

Who knows though. Maybe Price hurts Haye first.

I thought he landed a decent shot in the first few seconds. As I say though, its only from memory.

I like Price but those amateur defeats, some of them emphatic, are hard to wipe from the memory. Haye carries serious power, coupled with speed and skill.

If Price's chin concerns are true this would probably be a case of who lands first. And if the chin concerns are true you've got to think Price would go into this with caution, which would play into Haye's hands.

At this stage it'd be similar to Haye/Enzo. Far too early for Price to be even thinking about Haye, he looks a terrific prospect, but massive pressure of a fight like this, with absolutely no big fight experience, would mean there's a real chance he'd freeze. Even Enzo did, and that was after a couple of years as a WBO champion.

Just an FYI, but having read Hayemaker, I'm aware they've sparred together in the past - we all know it's not everything, but the one thing it will mean is that they know each other's styles inside out.
I think at this stage Haye would finish Price relatively early.

Haye was stopped, or knocked out, in the ams by a lower class of opponent than Price if you want to look at it that way. I honestly dont think Haye would fight him. He is terrified of being knocked out by anyone, as he showed in the Wlad fight where his only aim was to go the distance.

Haye would win, didn't they spar in the lead up to haye v valuev ?

True but Haye was a nipper back then ( 17? ) and has shown he can take a dig in the heavies when he fought Wlad ( despite what people generally believe, punches were thrown in this fight and Haye took a couple of big shots off of the divisions hardest puncher that night )

Price was knocked all over the place against Cammarelle, and he was wel in to his 20's at that point. The one that stands out for me most of all though was the commonwealths when he got knocked down a couple of times against a tiny ( by comparison ) Indian.

I hope big David goes all the way but the doubts still remain over the chin as it stands.

Price himself says he does not belong in the upper echelons of the HW division just yet, so that tells me that he doesn't believe he'd beat Haye right now.

Waste of time discussing it really because after 14 july the fight can never take place because Haye will be banned everywhere unless on unlicensed shows .

Haye for me. I just think he hits too hard.

I would say Price hits harder then Haye, and as a genuine heavy i would go for Price even now.
