Here are some interesting stills of events or people from some footage I just got:
Sam Taub being interviewed in his 90s at Ring Magazines Hall of Fame:
Bonavena being interviewed at a press event for the Patterson fight
Bonavena and Patterson at a press conference for the fight. Right after this Bonavena gestured to Patterson and said "My Grandfather" to laughs from the audience.
Bonavena being interviewed prior to the Ali fight.
Duran and Buchanan signing contracts.
Duran weighing in for Buchanan.
Duran interviewed after the fight. He barely has a mark whereas Buchanan was forced to wear large sunglasses to hide the bruises.
Candy Slim just got done doing his thang.

I guess Monzon didn't always dress up for his road trips.
Wasn't he on weekend furlough when he had the accident?

Carrasco-Melissano
Legra-Desmarets (Legra is so much fun to watch)
Legra-Allotey
Legra-Famechon
Mando Ramos-Pedro Carrasco 1 (This fight is easily on par with any of the criminal officiating we saw in Germany a decade or so ago. Even Carrasco was left clueless by it.)

The officiating in the first bout between Mando Ramos and Pedro Carrasco got slammed in the newspapers in Los Angeles. I have never seen a tape of that bout, but I did see a tape of the first bout between Jose Napoles and Armando Muniz, which definitely featured absolutely terrible officiating.

It was unreal chuck. At the end of the second to last rd ramos nailed carrasco and carrasco fell into a clinch holding himself up on ramos. Ramos twisted and half dumped, half pushed carrasco to the canvas. Its a move weve all seen a million times. The ref then sends both fighters to their corner and nobody knows whats going on. The round ends, there is the one minute break, and then the next round starts. Both fighters come out and there is an exchange in which i dont even think any punches land followed by a clinch. The ref steps in and stops the contest to the utter mystification of everyone including carrasco. It was an embarrassment.
