Two world class British heavyweights fighting each other in Britain in an exciting grudge match. It must be stopped!taffytoon wrote:This circus side show should not be taking place in the UK.
Id agree with that, chisora is a game competitor but effectively a punch back for haye, in fact i would say he will probably make it a very exciting fight. Out boxing a massively overrated helenius doesnt speak volumes to me, i think he will get dropped by haye about 3 times and maybe put haye on the canvas once only for him to get up and dish out some punishment as usual.MachoMan09 wrote:Does the fact Chisora has fought for a world title make him a world class boxer? When all the politics are removed from the equation, I think the match is a good comeback fight for Haye but I don't think Chisora is world class. I think his manager has moved him shrewdly in order to get a decent return from a guy who wasn't a domestic ticket seller.Horse wrote:Two world class British heavyweights fighting each other in Britain in an exciting grudge match. Beating Helenius on most people's scorecards and giving Vitali Klitschko a good fight would suggest he is world class.MachoMan09 wrote:Does the fact Chisora has fought for a world title make him a world class boxer?
Chisora has been matched against some of the best fighters in the division in the last 12 months and he has done well. He arguably has a better heavyweight record than Haye.MachoMan09 wrote:When all the politics are removed from the equation, I think the match is a good comeback fight for Haye but I don't think Chisora is world class. Really, he lost to fury, helenius and vitali; you have to win to have a better record than haye. Audley harrison is arguably better than fury and haye annihilated him, he beat ruiz and monty barrett who are better than anyone chisora has beaten and he beat valuev.Horse wrote:Beating Helenius on most people's scorecards and giving Vitali Klitschko a good fight would suggest he is world class.MachoMan09 wrote:Does the fact Chisora has fought for a world title make him a world class boxer?

Chisoras highest honour was briefly holding the lonsdale, even if you take into account chisora should have had the win against helenius. What exactly had helenius done? he was massively, massively overhyped by people who were desperate to see someone capable of competing with K2.

Haye's best win at heavyweight is against Valuev, is he any better than Helenius? Maybe he is, but it is up for debate.
Haye - Barrett, Valuev, Ruiz, Harrison, W. Klitschko
Chisora - Williams, Sexton, Fury, Helenius, V. Klitschko
If the Helenius fight is counted as a win for Chisora and Chisora's more competitive loss against a Klitschko is taken into consideration: Then Chisora's record is competitive with Haye's, although the Fury loss (fat excuse or not) probably gives Haye the edge.
