i will be covering this fight for the blog
http://fightscorecollector.blogspot.com saturday night so remember and add your scores on Boxrec and i will add to the blog along with all the other scores i collect.
Regarding the fight , Boxrec just like most forums are pretty split on who they think will win the fight although in just about all of them Bute is the Favorite.
I think that Bute has all the questions to answer in this fight...he is away from home in a big fight for the 1st time and Froch is by far the best opponent he has faced.
Froch has beat and fought the much better opposition although many dont know how much he has left..too many hard fights.
Can i just say this...Arthur Abraham did what Bute has done....he stayed at home fighting decent although NOT elite fighters BUT when he eventually did fight the elite HE was found out...BIGTIME.
Froch to me has always been the favorite in this fight and i give Bute respect for taking this in Nottingham. Saying that though Froch is tested against the elite and Bute isnt thats why i think Froch will win on points around the 8-4 , 7-5 mark.
ps: cheers to John Shep for letting me do this on boxrec

Going to sit on the fence and say a Draw. Bute will probably be ahead on most people's cards but the hometown advantage should work in Froch's favour.
Regarding the Abraham comparison: Bute has a much higher output than Abraham and has better all round technical skills. Abraham stepped up a division to fight in the Super 6 and was often the smaller man in the ring so I wouldn't look into that too much.

Bute looks awkward and he'll cause Froch problems, but Carls as tough as owd boots and has a great work ethic. I reckon Carl wins a narrow points decision after coming on strong in the 2nd half of the fight. 115-113, poss split decision IMO

Butes a different proposition to Abraham altogether. I'd say he's much more dangerous. True he has a lot to prove here. Being physically bigger than Froch too I fancy him to win by a margin of 4 or 5 rounds. Hope it's a fair dec if it goes to the judges. Best of luck to both should be decent.

Bute will make Froch fight all the way. He will be in Froch's face the whole time. You have to say though Froch loves a tear up who can forget the Pascal fight. My heart says Froch on a split decision my head says Bute by a wide points margin.
This is going to be a proper fight that will have us all screaming to see the rematch.

You make some interesting points, but I do feel I have to pick you up on what you say about Arthur Abraham. Is Jermain Taylor not an elite fighter? If he isn't then who has Froch geniunally beaten who is elite? Glen Johnson? (well Bute beat him also), Pascal - I would have some reservations about classifying him elite. Abraham - by losing to the only "elite" fighter bigtime - surely there is reservations about calling Abraham elite.
The lingering doubts about Bute's chin and stamina make this fight interesting, but I would favour Bute to have just too much if those two critical aspects can hold out. Froch might KO Bute, but he will be behind at the time of the contest.
My pick is Bute by wide decision - whoever wins I hope there isn't the controvesy like the last time Carl fought in Nottingham.

I'm going to stick my neck out here and say Froch will retire on his stool about round 10/11,after realising that he just hasn't got it anymore and suffereing a bit of a beating.

I don't see Froch ever retiring on his style, unless there are truly exceptional circumstances. He's a Warrior through and through

Carl Froch UD 12 Lucien Bute or at a push Carl Froch TKO11 Lucien Bute.
I think we're all writing Carl off far too early. Bute's good...but how good? We'll find out tomorrow.

Froch is one of my favourite fighters ever but I think he's on the decline and Bute will be too fresh and sharp for him. This is not based just on the evidence of the Ward fight - Ward is slippery enough to make anyone look terrible, I also thought Froch had lost something in the Johnson fight. There was no snap or fluidity. I think Bute will win on points or possibly even by late stoppage. It pains me to say that and I would be very happy indeed to be proved wrong.

I can't pick a winner. I can keep on thinking that Bute will be too busy and too awkward but then I can't get out of my mind his fatigue against Adrande and if you are shattered at the end, Froch is the last guy that you want to face. Whatever happens it should be an absolute belter. Fair play to both of them for taking it.

I predict a torrid encounter for Froch in front of his home fans, consistently getting beaten to the punch and failing to find the target, he may even get put down late on.
Bute UD
ps hope I'm proven completely wrong and Froch the job

Arguello & Zaragoza (though both those were surrendering on the floor, rather than between rounds...).

Yeah, the Arguello sitting on his backside shaking his head thinking - er no thanks, I don't want to die is one that sticks in the mind.
Morales too.

I'm really torn on this one. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Bute stoppage win unless Froch has suddenly learnt how to block left hooks. He ate so many of them in the Ward fight which is why I'm not confident in picking him.
Having said that, I think the 18/1 on offer for Froch in rounds 9-12 is a great bet.

At elite level, Froch is now losing his grip. Bute is probably at his peak and his speed, movement and decent power should see him home. I don't think Froch will have learned lessons from the Ward trouncing and will slip to another points defeat. Always a punchers chance for Froch, but Bute for me.

what lessons could he learn? the other guy was quicker than he was = Froch was fecked. he ain't going to learn to have quicker, lighter feet, or faster hands either.
on a level athletic playing field Froch would probably run Ward over like a rural badger.

Maybe Froch learned a lesson on how to block left hook, but Bute also has a very good right hand. Actually, Andrade had his firts knock down on a right hand from Bute. And those who think Bute has stramina problems, they must not base this impression on the first Andrade fight. Bute had suffer a food empoisenment before the fight and his team wanted to postpone the fight. It is Bute who insisted to fight.
Actually, you will find out that starting from round 7, Bute inscreases his rythm.
Froch is to tough to be KOed, unless Bute catch him with a liver punch, but he his too slow to beat Bute, as he was for Ward.
Prediction : wide UD in favour of Bute

I think that Froch will win a disputed decision.
