Was this guy ever a real boxer?
I know he was in one of the Rocky films and obviously the A-Team.
Does anyone know more about him?

I don't think he ever held a Amatuer or Pro license, He worked as a Doorman for years around New York and gained a feared reputation as a street fighter. Although Mr T has always maintained his elder brothers are much tougher than him.
He entered a unlicensed Boxing/Toughman competition called something like 'New Yorks hardest doorman' and he won. There was talk of him comming to Britain to fight one of our top unlicenced fighters Lenny McClean whom at that time was being handled by a young allegedly, but nothing came of it.
Mr T also was a well know minder to many stars and athletes including Leon Spinks, Diana Ross and Micheal Nunn.
A few years ago he was very ill with cancer but I understand that he recovered. I understand he is now a very god fearing and spiritual man.
In the scripted fight scenes I've seen him in he seemed to have been tutured in the very basics of the sweet scienc, but that may be just down to good camera work etc.

I heard Mike Tyson was considered for the part of B.A. Baracus in the movie-remake of the A-Team.

I'm sure that Marvin Hagler and Matthew Saad Muhammad were both considered for the part of Klubber Lang in Rocky III before Mr T got the part.
