When we talk about Legendary British and Irish Super-Middleweights we think Calzaghe, Benn, Eubank, Watson and Collins. Carl Froch's resume is up there with all of them and he definately needs to get the recognition he deserves. I really hope this is shown on the National news.

I would now put Froch ahead of Calzaghe personally. Just for the fact he's fought everyone out there, in their primes pretty much. Calzaghe had how many easy defences before the Lacy fight?

I am so happy for Froch, I thought his best days were behind him, didn't think he had a performance like that in him as I questioned his power at the very top level.

Any way you look at it, he just smashed a 30 fight unbeaten world champion to pieces, that has to be impressive in anyone's book.

Just wish I had bitten the bullet and got tickets for it, I ummed and ahhed and decided not to go, feeling slightly gutted now as that was some atmosphere, one of the special nights in british boxing, an 'I was there' night, and I ... well, wasn't!

Froch deserves all kind of credit. His fight selection is unimpeachable. It's the boldest in the world, without a doubt. Simply, he fights the best he possibly can almost every fight. He's now fought every single super-middleweight of note of his era. Not only that, but, uniquely, he's not afraid to go into his rivals' back yards and do it.

With balls like that, who cares about defeats? He's won far more than he's lost in the most exalted he could have possibly selected.

And it's the way he fights. How often has he been involved in a fight that wasn't entertaining? Dirrell is the only one I can think of, and that was just a bad clash of styles. But the rest have all been superb value for money.

Carl Froch is a model pro, has massive balls, an indomitable heart, a steel chin, an even harder mind, and proves that they do indeed -- sometimes -- make 'em like that, these days.

He deserves nothing but respect.

I still think the Kessler fights is the fundemental difference in the ranking of Joe and Carl..... agree with everything else you say though.
