All seemed very strange the ref lost control. Funny seeing froch trainer telling eddie to leave the ring? Seen fans on the pitch before but next announcement should be in the interests of your fighter please do not enter the ring before the ref has officially stopped the fight

The first thing i thought was Kirkland-Molina look what happened there. What a tube Hearn was leaping into the ring blubbing like an idiot the ref could clearly be seen pointing to a corner even McCracken saw this. Technically the fight was not stopped when Hearn jumped into the ring but i dont see anyone acting on it.

That was really bad.
Molina's second was in the corner of the ring for a split second; Hearn was jumping around the center of the ring for several seconds before the fight was called. People should take note of the Molina outcome and ensure that they enter the ring only when rules permit; doing otherwise isn't worth the risk.
The ref made a cock up of it. He jumped in and waved both hands above his head, now, I'm not sure about this, but isn't that the sign refs use to stop a fight?
True, but he immediatly backtracked on stopping the bout and started issuing a count.

I thought so, from where i was sat bute looked liked he'd sagged and the ref propped him up whilst waving it off

Not really as the rules say you get DQED if a member of yr corner team enter the ring illeagally .First although eddy is linked to froch he isnt a member of the corner team and there fore anyone could be DQed if a crazed fan jumps into the ring in a bout?
Also if people are moaning about people being in the ring illegally Bute gets DQed first at the end of the 4th he had two cornermen in the ring seeing to his cut this is illegal as well.

So Hearn is no different than a crazed fan.
Fair enough.

This. The ref gave the universal sign for waving a fight off, then began a count. Bizarre!

Classic with the username.
How do you get away with that, by the way ?
No one else can utter the Worthy One's name or as he is now affectionately known Bunny.

Well he certainly acted like one lol.
Hes defo not one of the four named corner men who are the people stated in the rules that will get you DQ for entering the ring.

Hearn was certainly 'over-enthusiastic'. I'm sure that's a lesson learned for next time, but Bute was finished, ref should have waved it off, which he half did then decided to count, stupid reffing but equally daft to be so quick jumping in the ring.
No way Bute could appeal though he was smashed to pieces, legs like jelly and like his trainer said it was a good stoppage as he might have taken some real damage if that had carried on.

Clutching at straws, Bute was done and had he continued he may well have been out cold!

This. They mentioned after the fight that the rules stated that a DQ would occur if the conermen stood on the apron. Bute's cornermen were on the apron before Hearn jumped in so I suppose they could try and change it to a DQ loss rather than a ko loss!!

The ref waved his hands like a normal ref does to signal a fight was over. The ref should of just pulled froch away and pointed to him to a neutral corner. Bute was done so no one should complain about it

Also, the referee appeared to help Bute up off the ropes before starting his count. Eddie Hearn got carried away and i'm sure he's learned his lesson.
The Bute camp have been classy throughout the build up and after the fight- a real credit to the sport. They haven't used it as an excuse and have even said that the fight should maybe have been stopped sooner.

The referee erred, but the bout wasn’t over since he immediately started counting. Thus, anyone entering the ring prematurely risked jeopardizing the result, which isn't trivial.

The referee jumped between both fighters and waved the fight off, at which point Froch immeadiately began to celebrate, as did almost everyone in attendance. They were perfectly in the right to do so.
So what if the ref quickly backtracked and started a count, it was his fcukup, he waved the fight off! Nobody else can be blamed for it, not even the over eager Eddie Hearn. It would be a disgraceful act if an appeal came in from team Bute.

Technically no cos you can only get disqualified if one of your corner jump in the ring.

Thats my impression of it. It was like he waived off the fight then decided to count.

The guy who got cut by the mother refused to fight on after order was restored and then was DQed for not fighting on.
