Adonis Stevenson...

Does anyone know much about this guy? He's the IBF #2 ranked contender, the #1 slot is vacant, with Matchroom saying they want an easier fight for Froch next and the IBF being very strict about champions taking on their mandatories, it looks like he could have a chance of being Froch's next opponent. He's not exactly got a glowing record after checking it.

He's been knocking people out in harsh fashion but it's fair to say he's not really been tested or chin-checked.

Doubtful they would make him mandatory as he's their number 1.

Matchroom said they want an easy one? When?

There aren't too many options left at 168 bar the Kessler rematch, but will Froch really want to fight this guy who lost to Darnell Boone (lol)? He does deserve a hometown defence against a lesser foe, but not sure he wants to go down a level.

I'd never looked at his paper record and I think all the fights I saw were in French!

Isn't Boone the journeyman who dropped Ward in his 5th fight?

They usually give their fighters 9 months odd to fulfil their mandatories tho don't they.

Saturday night didn't take much out of Froch at all, so hopefully a Kessler fight isn't long in coming. The big sticking point will be the location tho.

Boone is one tough journeyman , he's beaten a number of unbeaten boxers. Out of his 19 wins 13 of them came against boxers with winning records.

Stevenson might be an 'easy' option, but he's no mug and can punch hard.

Superman is probably my favourte fighter at the moment. Have won a sackload on him in recent months

Froch will banjo his ass back to Toronto but it sure will be fun while it lasted

It's said here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/boxing/18225160

"Carl doesn't like easy fights but it would be nice to have something a little bit easier. But he's put himself right back in the mix in the super-middleweight division."

Cheers for the responses!

The only reason I would wanna see him in with Froch is so he gets the brutal beat down that the scumbag deserves, forcing young girls into prostitution makes him scum.

Any chance of Carl fighting him or the South African fella or is it Kessler all the way? Their first fight wasn't that great

Were you drunk when you watched the Froch v Kessler fight. It was a terrific fight and it was a fight of the year candidate in 2009, mind you I would not seeing Froch in against Thomas Oosthuizen though.

Adonis is powerful and has destroyed solid opponents since losing to Boone. He's top ten or close to it by any relevant metric, and would be suitable if Froch wants a break from elite opposition.

Oosthuizen's managment supposedly rejected a bout with Stevenson for the IBF's top spot, so I question their willingness to let him fight someone better than Stevenson. Money is powerful though; a good offer may induce them to accept the risk of losing Oosthuizen's unbeaten record and future TV spots.

Hes a really good addition to the 168 division, and the fact that he has a fragile chin makes him all the more exciting. Him and Golovkin are p4p the two biggest punchers in boxing today. Wouldnt mind seeing him against the top dogs soon either, with his power you can never count him out.

I'd like to see him fight James DeGale next.

The thing with taking a fight against one of these so called easier opponents is if Carl doesn't show up and they go and nick the fight then it's a complete disaster, and if he rocks up and wins with contemptuous ease he doesn't really gain much, bar Oosthuizen's IBO title.

Oosthuizen is someone I wouldn't mind DeGale or Groves going after, but considering Froch has about 3 fights left at the top in my opinion, I don't wanna see him wasting one of them on a highish risk no reward fight.

It looks like they are moving down the list of the IBF rankings and have got to DeGale but cos of his problems with Allegedly they think it is unliley to happen.

It can happen but perhaps Degale will have to travel again.

Im not DeGales biggest fan however he deserves respect for travelling away to fight Savania. Alot of fighters would have just gave up the belt and tried to move on to something else. I actually think Allegedly will let him take this fight cos its win/win for him. He wins and he has a big fight lined up and if he loses he can get rid of DeGale( if he has the two loss clause).
