A good friend of mine was training thangthong. He just won an Ibf eliminator and became no1 contender. His wife also died in the crash and his two young daughters are in a bad way. The girls will be in my prays.

I read about it in the Bangkok Post online and it said his twin 6 year old daughters also died in the crash. He had two nieces with him and there fighting for there live's.

Dam, poor guy.
Hope he can recover though it seems unlikely. That fight with Alvarez would have been a cracker

I notice he has already been removed from the boxrec rankings. They don't muck around!

I wish the guy all the best. You just have to admire his sense of humour in regards to his comment about if he can't box, he is going to be a stand up comedian. You have to be made of something different to jest about that kind of stuff, especially so early on in the piece.

Good on you Paul, I am sure the whole boxing community will be behind you; I know I am!

His doctors have said he will never walk again. A rating would be the last thing on his mind.

??? They are the words of Paul, not Stinger, hence the comment that you have to admire Paul's sense of humour....

Exactly.
Pauls words not mine, and I admire him for it.

The lower half of his spine was destroyed in the accident. He will never fight again, he will be lucky to walk again.

I read a story today that quoted his surgeon as saying that his spine was damaged in the mid thorax region, and that the spinal chord was damaged by splintered bone, not severed as first thought. While there is a long road ahead, it is thought that Paul may be able to walk again. That being said, I doubt we will ever see him in the ring again. His attitude has been amazing!
