Ochieng vs Selkirk

Cox should get stripped off the CommonWealth belt and this fight should be made.

I'd fancy Ochieng. Cox would struggle to make the weight and going by his last fight might struggle going over 6 rounds.

Not this time, the fuss after Sai lost was huge mate. Also, Ochieng is with Eddie and Selkirk is with Allegedly. Plus, Commonwealth arent the strictest on how often a champion has to fight, he has got atleast another 6-12 months before they will make him fight again.

Wouldn't mind seeing Selkirk against O'Meara again over a longer distance. Thought the first fight could have been scored a draw....maybe put him in with Maxwell first?

Selkirk's progress has been so slow and disappointing......he needs a hard 10 rounder.

Not sure if he will be fighting now as he may have a big fight in September in a very famous Venue... Watch this space!

How do you know about Jamie`s weight situation ? As for Eric Ochieng & Jamie they know each other well & there is mutual respect. Jamie makes 11st comfortable & i promise you no one in this country stops Jamie in 6 rds. He`ll be back hopefully before Christmas & will fight anyone put infront of him. First he has a return fight with Obodai Sai who is a good fighter then he`ll keep working towards his goals.
Sorry that was a mistake that should have been Selkirk not Cox, however did read an article this week from Cox that said if doesnt get what he wants from F******** W he will give up the belt because there's no way he is going to Ghana for a rematch.I dont thing he can hold on to the belt for that long

Ye no problem with the fight but venue is a problem, to be fair that`s not exactly FW`s fault. Take a very good man to beat Joe Selkirk in 6 rds.
Very frustrating when many good fighters and because of politics very stagnent...but thats boxing

The problem is not just fighters avoiding each other Mcato but also promoters not wanting to work with each other, some promoters match their own fighters against each other and some only work with promoters they are friends with. I think if the BBB of C took a more active roll in matching, i.e their own ranking system, where the best fight the best. I still do not believe Selkirk can do 11st, in his last fight he was preparing to fight in an eliminator, it never came off, he was well over the 11st limit, looking ripped and struggled with stamina, not the signs of someone who is ready to fight for a major title at 11st, personally I believe Jamie Cox beats him, but would be a real toe to toe, that's if Jamie hands have recovered, which is a big if, I think in the light middleweight division they should the young guns the chance instead of the same old faces that have failed before.

I really want to see the big fights in this division. Brian Rose vs Carslaw is not the type of fight the public would get exited about. The big fights need to happen. Rose vs Webb Selkirk v Doran Ochieng v Cox Omera v Aaron these are the fights we want to see

There you go hardley anyone up there and still not fighting each each. The Middleweight division a great div to be in. Those big names need to start fighting eachother. No disrespect but with so many top fighters in the mid why is Bradley price (lit mid) getting a crack at the common Wealth belt? it could of been prince aaron, liam cameron, Ryder,Blackwell, conception and a few more

Pryce was coming off decent wins against Mendy and Danny Butler, so was just as deserving (if not more) than the names mentioned. More to the point, why are so many fights for the Commonwealth belt made that simply match up British fighters? Is there even any point to the belt anymore, if countrys like Canada and Australia don't often get a look in?

He is better suited to fighting at light middle (or even welter) but he chooses in which division to compete, and scored two decent wins over middles. I think he was a better shout than any of the other names you mentioned, at this moment in time. It was a voluntary (although is there any other type of Commonwealth title defence?), and the plan would have been to get Saunders in with a decent name, with experience, who was fairly unlikely to cause an upset.
