Dear me. He got $30m for fighting Marquez (most recently) and is on a $26m guarantee for Bradley plus a share of PPV revenue.
Incredible.

He also recently said that Mayweather offered him $40m to make the fight with a $20m downpayment within 48 hours. He said he rejected it on the basis that it was complete disrespect from Mayweather to not offer him a 50-50 split.

It says David Beckham's net worth is $260m. I thought he earned $250m from his 5 year LA contract, alone?

The article is for a 12 month period. Divide that figure by 5, for a start.

Maybe the original contract quoted by the media wasn't correct

Sounds about right.
I watched the New York Cosmos docu a couple of days ago - They were talking about Pele's fee. They had all the people who were part of the discussions at the time on camera, asking them how much Pele got and all of them quoted a different figure. It then had the newspapers of the time, all quoting different figures. They differed from about 2 million to 7 million dollars.

net=after tax, no? Salaries and contracts quoted in the press are nearly always gross, so that would be why it differs. God knows how much he gets in sponsorships and deals but it will be a lot.

There was a really good article on Seconds Out a few years ago talking about Pac Man's earning and where his money was going. When we was earning $4-5m a fight he would end up owing Top Rank by the end of it with taxes, fees, advances etc all being taking out. It was a staggering article. Think you can still find it if you search.

Couldn't find one relating to Arum, but this is quite an eye-opener, RE: the second Morales fight...

Love Hauser, a true investigative boxing journalist that blows 'rumour mongering' US boxing website journalists well and truly out of the water.

However much he's made, Uncle Bob has made more.

Reading the Hauser article you have to hope that the situation has changed for the better or in a decade or o Manny could be in a situation similar to Holyfield.

I'd imagine Pacquaio has done pretty well for himself since. And doesn't Holyfield have something like 9 kids by several different mothers that he has to pay for?

It's a little weird taking that article at face value, however if you read it properly, he got a new porsche and several hundred thousand in advances, "free" tickets and hotels/air fares etc out of it.
