Anybody else hearing rumours of the fight starting at approx 7am UK time?

Apparently something to do with Pacquiao wanting to watch a basketball match or something.

Can anyone shed any light?

I very much doubt it will start anywhere near 7am. I expect it to start around 4am approx (depending on how long the undercard lasts).

Typically 3.30am - 3.45am with the punches being thrown after about 10mins of anthems / introductions.

Im being led to believe that this is gonna be unusually later than your normal fight due to Pacquiaos demands.

Major HBO PPVs tend to start between 4am to 5am, but it really depends on the length of undercard. The target time is 4am (11pm ET) but they often start later.

I would ignore the rumours about 'Pacquiao's demands' unless you hear anything concrete from a reliable source. It sounds like Chinese whispers to me (but please correct me if I'm wrong).

Well there is truth to it as it's game 7 between the Boston Celtics(mannys team) and Miami heat which will be a massive occasion and more importantly for Arum will overlap some of the boxing PPV and could even dent what should have been a comfortable 1million PPV for Pac to something like 800,000 buys so he will want to give as much time between the end of the basketball game and the start of the Pac-Bradley fight main event.

Traditionally Basketball fans tend to also be boxing fans, the game starts at 8.30 EST and with all the celebrations for the winner will end around 11.30/12 EST which is 5am GMT.

Therefore i think Arum will start the PPV broadcast at the usual time of 9pm EST/2am GMT but delay the start of the Pac-Bradley although 7am is very unlikely as thats 2am EST so my guess would be around 12 EST/5 am onwards.

I am aware of the basketball game in question but, like you said, I can not see HBO delaying the fight till 7am. If the rumours turn out to be true then I will very surprised.

Important to remember that fight is in Nevada, Las Vegas. They are 8 hours behind UK as opposed to EST (New York region) which is only 5 hours behind us.

So if the fight began at 8pm in Las Vegas, that's 4am in UK.

Would it start any earlier than that ?
