Great chins !!

Reading about reactions after Paquaio v Bradley and other bad decisions supports my view that being a huge puncher saves all the problems - knock them out !!!

But , there are guys who had incredible chins and even the best of punchers had difficulty putting them down .

To name just a few - Jake La Motta , George Chuvalo and our own Billy Walker . Carl Froch can take a punch and so could Chris Eubank .

But where are the single punch knock out artists like Julian Jackson ( v Herol incredible),Tommy Hearns ( v Duran incredible) Marciano ( v Walcott incredible) . I think the gloves have a lot to do with it . The modern gloves are less prone to being saturated in water thus exposing the knuckles to the surface of the glove .

But , I know its cruel , the best boxing excitement comes when a REAL puncher enters the ring . Am I right ?????

You're quite correct about punchers being the most exciting.

Some might not admit it, but we all love to see brutal knockouts, but there is something to savour when you see a fighter with a titanium chin swallow up punches from fighters who could bring down a building with their power.

Hagler springs to mind, the way how he took awesome shots from phenomenal punchers like Mugabi & Hearns without blinking.

I think more sensible match making plays a part... Boxrec actually probably reduces ko's

I love nothing more than seeing a iron chinned or well schooled fighter taking on a big punching brute & watching the power punches bounce harmlessly off him, then watch as the puncher becomes frustrated & clueless with no plan B, only to get stopped himself.

This is why Benn -v- Watson, Ali -v- Foreman, McCallum -v- Jackson & Hagler -v- Hearns are amongst my favourite fights.
