Sad news. Hope he's bought a pint and a double chaser in his last chance saloon and manages to come back.

Only spoken to him very briefly in passing a couple of times in the north east - seems like a lovely lad. His dad, Phil, posts on here - a nice fella who is pouring his heart, soul (and cash) into reinvigorating the scene up there.

Hope it works, Jaffa :salut:

Poor, poor guy, you can't help but feel for him. Just hope whatever route he eventually goes down that things work out for him as he comes across well.

Can't see how squirting blood plasma into a faulty hand is going to remedy it I'm afraid.

Shame for him, but long term health and use of his hands is paramount over boxing.

Really hope I'm wrong and it does work.

Phil, I've just been reading about how they squirt concentrated blood into wounds to aid faster recovery / healing, but I can't see anything on it aiding existing bone/tendon injuries.

I'm glad the treatment is free for him, because when faced with such a dilemma a man can spend his life savings chasing a voodoo cure, even if there is only 1% chance of success.

I saddened to hear about Tony Jeffries repeated doses of misfortune with his hands, I hope he is able to have the issue sorted out so he continue to have some involvement within the fight game.

Real shame for Tony.

Seems like a really nice fella.

Hope everything works out for him.

I know it may not mean much but winning a medal at the olympics is one of the biggest/best achievements in any sport whatever happens from now he'll always be considered a success.

Good luck Tony

he's had great success as an am & has thrown himself at the pro's sufferd bad cuts etc. & seen mates fight for titles.he's young enough to have this op & take a lentghy lay off as his body is under immense strain & give it one more go.i hope he dont make any rash decisions or dont give this time to heal & ruin his dreams.
