Saw a piece on the Daily Record website that Harrison had never heard of Derry and that he only wants to fight for a world title not the British. Harrison should be taking any chances he can get because he's not going to get many more.

Well, I think it would be a bit much for Harrison to jump into a world title fight when he is jumping up two weight devisions, that is irrespective of his time out.

Looking forward to seeing Scott 29th June thats begining to look like a real good show full of Scottish talent, nobody can say what Scott has left until he has a real test in the ring and what weight he can actually make! The scales dont lie!

He's the biggest damn featherweight I've ever seen! I'll be amazed if he even makes lightweight to be honest and if he does it'll be interesting to see what he has left cos the drinking will have an effect n his body not to mention the lie down time he's done too, I hope he does ok as it would be some story but I'll be honest I can't see it ;

Harrison is finished. he's 34 years old and not faught in 7 years, had problems with drink and spent time in foriegn jails.

You only need to look at Junior Witters shambolic performance in the prizefighter to see how hard it is to comeback.

Agreed its not the world level he was at but for his age Juniors not done badly lately.

Difference between him and Harrison is Witter has lived the life/trained/boxred fairly regurlarly (ie no 7 year long breaks) ... Harrison hasn't.

yeah but my comparison with Junior Witter was his attitude coming into Prizefighter was sort of "i'm embarrassed to even be here but it will be an easy nights work". It's sort of the same contempt Harrison is showing Mathews.

Robin Reid is another example. Harrison could never reach anything near the level he was at before.

And yeah i'm pretty sure they are having a rematch after that horrible nose break.

7 years is a long time out and to come back against someone like derry has just got stoppage written on all over it ,harrison at one time was a world class fighter but this isnt his weight and derry's coming off a very good win.

drug & drink abuse takes its toll on young men let alone 35 yr olds :!: tapia stayed active so was on & off.loved watching harrisons brute strength.
he has to be right behind buchannon as a scottish great imo.

Hard to say. He would never have been elite but prob very solid world level.

Can I just let people no , have got the biggest fight of my life coming up so the talk of me fighting Harrison is going in one ear and out the other , the talk started when at a press day in Scotland the other day Scott said he didn't no who I was and he only wants world titles , so I doubt we will ever fight , il let him get on with is career which I hope he turns round to prove people wrong , and il get on with mine , Gavin Rees July 7th is my next stop ,then il talk after that thanks

I started the thread mainly because of what Harrison said about you mate rather than talk of a proposed fight. Good luck on the 7th should be a belter.
