We have a few boxers in Birmingham now, Elcock, Macklin, Conception, they could easily sell 3000 tickets, The same as Tony Oakey, York hall, Harrison, AAA, Calzaghe, the only big ticket seller is Hatton, so why have we not have a good event in Birmingham? :(

(Whilst not quite Birmingham)I've thought for long enough that a white half decent/exciting boxer that openly supports Wolves - like Ricky does city - could become a huge draw in the Midlands. There seems to be millions of Wolves fans.

Too right Brum is way over due a major SN show!!

Birmingham became a big fight outcast after the incident at McCraken v Foster, but that is ancient history now and we deserve big fights. I am sick of having to continually travel.

Conception is Leicester based I believe, but as the second city Birmingham has enough fight fans to support a good sized show with ease.

Lets have a Macklin and Elcock double bill and see Birmingham return to big time boxing!

Birmingham deserves big fights, a great city, with some of the warmest people you could wish to meet.

The last fight I attended in Birmingham was at the NEC on a Sunday afternoon; Tony Sibson v Dwight Davison.

My old amatuer coach took me in his big old Ford Granada Coupe.

Great fight, great atmosphere.

Sibbo really was a terrific fighter, and could sell loads of tickets.

A promoters dream.

If boxing in this country is to become mainstream again, places like Birmingham need to be staging BIG fights.

We need to get a petition going , We travel all over the place, Scotland, London, Manchester, Pompey, even Hennessey put a show on at Notts, Andrew facey would pull in a few.

It would be good wouldn't it to have a massive show at the NEC, I think having major venues like that used for boxing shows can only help nudge boxing back into the mainstream.

No doubt Jacko, yourself and Adams could pull in a very good crowd. We have plenty of ticket sellers in Birmingham/Black Country. One of the big promoter's needs to give Brum a chance.

Have you come across Darren McDermott before Jacko? He had a good few people from Dudley at the Cardiff show....

Doesnt Scott Harrison sell 9000 tickets at the Braehead arena not 3000 like suggested above

I recon 3-5000 tickets would go straight away, how many normally sell at Dudley Jacko?, Would be a good night at the nia or somewear neutral cus of the football thing. Elcock sold more tickets than Farnell when they fought in Manchester, Macklin would sell 1500 easy, All the Wolves boys, and iff it didnt sell out put Hatton on the under card

Might be 5000, I ve watched harrison there before don't think its 9000 the hall seems small, and compact.

Yeah i know McDermott,nice guy sparrs with me a lot,very nice boxer.
Steve Dudley usally holds i think bout 600 fans,it's only small thought so it's pretty packed,great venue for boxing

So with all selling 600 tickets, and the other midlands fighters selling a few it would be a good night.

Scott Murray, owner of Barsports in Cannock and Walsall, is opening a pro-am gym in Walsall in the next couple of months (the building is being done up as I write), with Peter Till to act as trainer. Hopefully, scott will graduate to staging pro shows. There's certainly an opening.
