Andy Lee vs Chavez jr * Spoiler *

Apparently Lee started brightly, then Chavez junior (who weighed a stone heavier) came at him like a bull dozer.

Laurence Cole stopped the fight in 7th. Andy Lee was in desperate trouble at the time.

One for the conspiracy theorists - Chavez apparently 'couldn't produce' a urine sample and then left immediately after the win. The ring was also minimum allowable size.

Also Lee's camp put out a press release yesterday saying Chavez's lot refused to have their man's gloves weighed to check they were the agreed 10oz. Not looking good, is it?

I saw that.

When Sulaiman is godfather to you and your brother, you can do anything you please.

Like ensure he fights in Texas, who self-regulate their own drug-testing. Often they simply don't do any at all. Then when they do, it's a basic urine test.

It looks terrible but Lee has an extremely experienced team behind him and if they were that bothered they should have pulled out.

There are definatly a few oddity's here but it doesn't mask over the fact that Andy Lee got beat and handily, I think he's found his level and it's not world class.

Chavez was far too strong and walked through Lee's jab - the ring was tiny and favoured Chavez, although Lee abandoned his movement early on.

I personally have little doubt that Chavez is on the gear. He has been done for diuretics previously which are often used as a masking agent for steroids and the fact that he side stepped the p*ss test last night just further compounds that feeling.

I hope Chavez wasn't up to anything, if he is clean then i was impressed with him. He looked so much stronger than Lee, and finished the fight like his old man.

Lee put up a brave display, and had his moments early on. He just lacked that extra gear after the 4th round.

There's too many negatives to go with his positives(no drug pun intended) people seem to talk more about the dodgy antics rather than how he fights.

Fightnews say Lee was up 58-54 on all three scorecards

Why do they have drug testing at all for his fights? Are they forced to have it?

Anyone got any actual FACTS about any of this?

This refers to the weighing of gloves (or not) prior to the fight:

That doesn't mean Chavez did anything wrong. It might have been mind games by Lee's people.

Just like Froch's glove non controversy.

Lucian Bute is a huge super middle. He weighed 168lb then on the night almost 176lb

Chavez weighed 160 and then came in at 182lb for Rubio.

Chavez has served one ban for masking-agents, caused controversy for leaving 5mins after Rubio fight and thus missing doping test. Then last night said he was 'unable to provide' a urine test.

FFS.

The only sensible thing to do is weigh the fighters just before they fight. The current system is insane.

A known drug cheat who doesn't give piss tests, fights predominantly in Texas and someone pointed out earlier he's the godson of suliaman. Junior gets an easy ride for sure.

They do, that's what he's saying.

I mean, weigh in below the limit just before the fight.

Commentary for this one was abysmal, so far up Chavez's arse. I had Lee 4-2 up at the time of the stoppage and although I never doubted Chavez would get to him the commentators were talking like Chavez was winning every round handily. Why can't commentators just stick to describing the action rather than a) trying to tell you how they predicted what would happen, b) acting as a cheerleader for the marquee fighter or c) growling and getting hysterical?

I was thinking that as well. Merchant and co were licking his arse big time. Roy jones was a bit less biased but Lee didn't get the credit he deserved.
