Mate I have heard nothing, which is very disappointing.
Looking at the schedule guys such as Tomlinson and other big names in Australia have fights around that date.
I am hoping Andy Green gets a look in to kick start his career again.
Im confident it will be, once again, a top undercard. Hopefully soemthing should be known by the end of the week...

that doesnt sound too good from a fans perspective tbh.
especially at $50 to watch. i think i will be bypassing this one at this stage. i refuse to part with that kind of money to watch him fight a never was, especially if its a terrible undercard. for me it will have to be a pretty awesome card to part with my money this time around.
if it had been a $25-$30 card i would consider it a bit differently.

Green's cards are usually at least as good as anyone else's. Strange though that 4 weeks out there's not a single name inked in.

he is right imo.

if its an ordinary card then its hard to want to part with 50 bucks for it. wait for a better one.

4 weeks to go and no undercard posted! Main Event is charging $49.95 to take the fight live and the same amount for encores and they bill Danny's opposition as a "club fighter". The interesting thing is that the telecast is scheduled to start at 8pm AEST, where as in the past, 7pm has been the start time for Perth events over in the east.

This later than usual start time and the continuing absence of details, gives the impression that not all is well with the undercard's structure.

Also the Bronx Bomber has had a previous Australian connection, although not good one from his perspective:
Santiago's previous experience of Australian fighters came when he was in the third instalment of The Contender series in the US alongside Sam Soliman and Sydney-based Cameroon fighter Sakio Bika.

Bika eventually won the tournament and claimed the $750,000 prize money, while Soliman took third spot. But for Santiago the tournament ended before it could even begin when he was eliminated by show host Sugar Ray Leonard in episode one after weighing in a whopping 13.6kg over the 76.2kg super-middleweight limit.

I am confident it will be decent card with good match ups. Even if there are no "big" names on the undercard, Green Machine have usually matched up fighters well. Now that Tarver has been stripped of his title, any chance this is for the IBO CRuirserweight Belt??

Would be good if he had our rising boxing stars on the card Fletch, Pitt, Forsyth and co. BUT they are scheduled for other fights...wishful thinking on my behalf

No. Both fighters have their ambition at light heavyweight.

I hope your right Brute. Theres no doubt Greeny has no intention to campaign at Cruiser, but this bout is at Cruiser. If the IBO offered the bout for the vacant title it would be interesting to see if Greeny would accept. He would have to pay a sanctioning fee, once Green vacated the title the IBO could arrange a bout between Kayode and Flores and charge another sanctioning fee. Makes good business sense not to have a title vacant for too long. And it would be just another trinket in Greenys cabinet. I hop it doesnt get offered to Greeny because it makes a mockery of the title if they are both coming in at 84kg or below (I know it has been done previously).

Green said after his last press conference that he planned to get down to light heavyweight and challenge current WBA champion Beibut Shumenov. Santiago's last fight was against Shumenov who stopped Santiago in nine last July. This fight should give Green some idea if he has a future at 175 pounds.

Greenys made it clear what he wants, and thats Mundine. If that doesnt happen and he can perform at Lt Heavy, then there are plenty of offers inclduing Nathan Cleverley and Shumenov. I suppose the issue re the IBO Cruiser title is more one for the IBO themselves. Would be interesting to see if Danny would accept it, knowing he would be vacating it immediately.
Listening to Choc on foxsorts news today, there was no mention what so ever about Green. That will all change if he gets done by McKart.

Be very surprised if the undercard isn't decent, he's maintained and demonstrated his promotional company as the pinnacle in this region of the world, Will Tomlinson, Willie Kickett, Dominic Vea and Shane Cameron have all leaned on Green to get thier career or restart there career under Green Machine promotions.

I think the fight is apt, you can't expect anything less, and I think he can take stock from the Tarver fight, he was defiantly juicing, look how well prepared and massive he was, compared to the layer of fat covering muscle memory against Kayode.

I will never understand why he gave up on Cruiser, he's been beaten Flores been beaten by a cheat and was clearly winning against the world champ for 11 rounds, he could complete the 12 if he can swallow his pride and hold when he's hurt or to just simply nulify the Polak's attack.

Not too many people have a good return to there previous weight class, let's see what happens here.

That makes no sense. He tested positive just before his fight with Kayode, not green. So if he was definitely juicing, as you say, he would have come in against Kayode looking like beast....

I am a green fan but he got beat by Tarver because he has crap head movement but thinks he can sit on the ropes, not because of anything Tarver took

Can't see McKart winning. That's why he was chosen. But if he did pull the upset Mundine would be on the phone to Green before he got home from the US.

that was a very winable fight with wlod for green, your right if he just held on and bided his time for the last two rounds he would have had it in the bag. he did start to look a little hagged though in those later rounds

His conditioning for 12 was poor, even the Flores fight he slowed down the stretch.

He also fought at a very high pace when entering the cruiser division at it's full weight, his opponents were Flores,Tarver and Wlod, so he didn't really adjust to the weight before taking at that calibre, he also did have that operation.

Not excuses, just facts. He should be proud of what he was trying to do and take stock. This upcoming fight is right for him, but he will need another back at 79 KG's before taking on a world champ, he will need to learn from that first fight back at the weight.

Three weeks out and still no undercard revealed.

Danny is now in Melbourne training for this fight and was quoted that the 25th July's bout could be his last as he is still trying to goad Mundine into a final big pay-day deal, but Mundine is having not having a bar of it.

That would change instantly if he happened to lose to McKart :TU:

The undercard has been added to the system.
Whilst it is not to the standard I thought, in the way of big names, it does have a couple of hot prospects and the match ups seem to be reasonable.
The tickets for this event were about $40 less than the Wlod card so maybe I was expecting too much (I paid about $130 for premium tickets last time round, this time they were $90).

.

There is no need to be offering the title to anyone. There were 6 enquiries into the title the moment Tarver's result came in. Nothing was being decided until his B sample was tested and his appeal heard (he is claiming a false positive)
