Well the reasoning seems highly eyebrow-raising...........

But what's done is done.

I'd be surprised if many of the 'clientele' were excited for this fight anyhow.

I am expecting more fighting out of the ring than in it that night!

Its a Klitshcko style card. Massive top of the bill and loads of fillers. Hall/o'Sullivan is a good fight.

Is there a link detailing the undercard anywhere, since BoxRec still won't detail it?

Ergh. Povetkin is a more offensive 'champion' than John Ruiz. What is Hasim Rahman doing in a world title fight?

The WBA's crimes these last decade are off the chart. They need to be lined up against a wall and shot.

Was this fight ever really on the bill?

I don't recall seeing either Povetkin or Rahman in any press conference and despite the almost daily outpourings of information from Warren Towers, I don't recall anything other than the announcement of the fight.

It would add nothing to ticket sales - the numbers travelling from Russia/Germany and the US to watch these two could be counted on the fingers of a one-armed man, while the costs of having them on the undercard would have made a huge dent in the fight revenues. Much better to have the fight in Germany and show it on the channel for the cost of rights only.

Spot on was it ever on but they still told fans its on not good enough! But as ARD not broadcasting will all the cost of the live prodcution now be footed by allegedly.

No great loss.

I don't care about this Rahman-Povetkin fight, even though I'm a heavyweight fan. Rahman hasn't had a decent win in 7 years. The WBA is a disgrace for making him the mandatory.

I hope Sauerland, with their roster of talented up-and-comers (like Dirks, Masternak, Pulev, Gerber, Woge, etc.) puts on a decent undercard in Hamburg.

It's not Povektin's fault, Hasim's his #1 contender.

I wonder how this afffects TV production costs.
Sauerland were, after all, the show's promoters and it was ARD that were underwriting much of the cost for an outside boardcast production.
I think most who believe this fight was only on to put on another attractions for fans are completely missing the point. allegedly underwriting everything now.
