It would be a remarkable story if he can stay on the straight and narrow long enough to make the most of whatever he has left. Can he get back to the top?

I really cant see it happening. It would be something. Paul Spadafora had very similar problems to Harrisons and he made a succesful comeback albiet he wasn't out the ring for as long. If he can stay out of trouble and he shows he still has some of his old ability you never know but his crazy lifestyle has surely cut short his career.

I'll always have a soft spot for Scott but to suggest they want a fight for a world title after 2 fights is madness imo.Ricky Burns and Scott would be massive in Scotland but so one sided it may be hard to watch.
I hope Scott goes down the domestis level route he says hes better than that well imo he needs to prove it! will he?

I'll have to say no. He really hasn't been "dry" that long if he was pissing all over a tescos (I'm an Asda man myself Scott but you took it too far there pal) less than 3 months ago aand that probably wasn't the last time he had a drink. It's a shame as I really liked Harrisons no nonsense style and determination. I can see him bowling over a few stiffs then getting worked over when he steps up as all those years of inactivity and self abuse take its toll.

He couldn't beat Ricky burns even when he was a world champion Ricky will take some Beatin hope he get back to some were near the top but didn't like the sound of have this fight and fight for a world title next fight that doesn't happen but best of luck Scott

No... Harrison's strength was his strength at Feather...... and was quite beatable by the best in his prime. There is no way he got the draw against Victor Polo (the most unluckiest man in world boxing) and he got a boxing lesson in the first fight with Medina.

Just to say I've updated the piece as he's had a change of opponent.

Now some unbeaten 18 year-old Hungarian lad.

he will get destroyed as soon as he steps up to a decent domestic level.

crolla, matthews, rees, murray, mitchell, maybe even limond if hes still fighting. All beat him now.

Hes an old, inactive drunk. His style was all about bullying and i think that ship will have sailed.

Dont get me wrong, i was a big fan. But time waits for no man.

i doubt if he looks that good in the gym if they r matching him with an 18 year old kid.

Harrison is a warrior and more importantly has always kept himself in great shape so even if he's 75% of what he used to be he'll do well at least domestically.

Give him a year and 3 or 4 fights to shake off the rust then i expect him to give Ricky Burns a very good close fight.

Scott was never good enough to compete with the very best at Featherweight during his peak and i certainly don't expect him to do it at Lightweight now but if he still has it i do expect him to compete with anyone outside the Top 10.

I would not back him to get back to the top. My money would be on him hitting rock bottom again.

is it even possible to stay in "boxer" shape when in the nick? I know u can shadow box, do sit ups and push a few weights, but its hardly the same is it?

I agree that Ricky would beat Scott easily now and think it will be very hard for him to come back after all the time off. But to say Ricky's style would give Scott nightmares I doubt very much.. At the time Ricky wasn't good enough to give Alex Arthur or Carl Johanson nightmares, Scott was better than both. No one will know how good he will be until he gets back. One things from sure he will prob still have the power that will give him a chance.

To say Ricky style gives Scott nightmares is a bit much , I think billy believe Ricky's style would give Mike Tyson nightmares. Billy Ricky needs to fight someone like Vasquez, Abril or De Marco instead of all this nonsense surrounding Kevin Mitchell. Mitchell is a domestic level fighter who was stopped early against katsidas who is not world level. Ricky done well but he has to prove hes the best by trying to unify the division but I know how this is going to go. He will fight a couple of under world level or passed it fighters. Move up a weight division win a world title against passed it fighters and avoid anyone with meaning. Im a big fan of Ricky but i cant help get the feeling that his team avoid everyone. Not interested in what anyone says Broner should have been a fight he wanted but avoided it by moving up. Ricky is a class act and a nice guy to boot but he is nowhere near a scottish legend until he has fought some of the top fighters:)

Didnt he win a prison marathon or summit, then come back to scotland and act a cock again. There coulda been some belting contests out there win or lose for scott, especially with his style, but not anymore. Too old, out game too long, and will be beat in first fight against someone that comes to really win.

Sad for me to say that, as in his prime i did love scott, braehead arena, flower of scotland.

His size and strength were his assets. Boiling down heavily, he had some decent ability but now, after all that time and wear and tear, it is a bit too optimistic to place him anywhere near top level.

This like his 40th comeback!
