EARL OUT!
Graham Earl has been ruled out of his British lightweight title clash with Bobby Vanzie due to ‘flu.
Earl beat Vanzie controversially on points to take the title, but the former champion was nominated by the British Boxing Board of Control as Earl’s mandatory defence.
They had been scheduled to meet in Edinburgh on March 27, but Earl was recently struck down with ‘flu and has been told not to train for at least 15 days.
“Graham is very disappointed not to be able to defend his title and prove that his first win over Vanzie was no fluke,” said Earl’s manager Frank Maloney.
“But hopefully he will be back to full health soon and able to show that he is the best lightweight in the country.”
