the two refs last night were diabolical, IMO.
Scoring when needed was fine but they stopped almost every fight too late...
Boness stopped Greenwood in shocking fashion, Greenwood afaik trains with Negus, looked like he was totally unprepared for the pace and occassion, harder sparring prescribed IMO.
Mullender stopped his man too.
The Whyte stoppage was brutal, but if the damn ref is reading this - as soon as that shot landed, he was gone, the whole place saw that. He landed heavily and he should have waved the fight off and got the docs in, not wasted time counting.
Weise, when he went down first, twitched on the floor. He got back up, but ffs the fight was over from that point. Wouldn't have hurt anyone to stop it then.
Overall though, a great card, a shame it wasnt filmed. Why cant Sky or whoever consider cards on their merits/potential?

Think if they get stopped that early you get people saying he needed more of a chance.
Its a double edged sword which divides opinion, think the referees did a good job yesterday though. No complaints from any boxers, managers or trainers.
That show was better than most of the trollop we see on Allegedly Channel.

It deffo deserved telly.
Speaking for myself, I love watching boxing but I don't want my enjoyment at the expense of someones long-term health. I'd have been happy for a few of the stoppages yesterday to have come earlier, but as you say it divides opinion. The only issue I have with the refs is that of the stoppages, the scoring and the overseeing was fine IMO.

I'm getting his fight mixed up with Higgins I think... Higgins' oppo was a bit unsporting at the finish, it looked like he thought he'd been fouled, and when he turned to look at the ref Higgins lamped him...

Whyte drilled off his opponent in round 2. Was ringside and it should of been stopped before Farkas was rolling around on the floor. Agree with the Toms fight, but that was more the corners fault for putting him back in at end of round. But yes, the refs were shit as a whole.

Whyte is a Maloney fighter, but its good to see him busy, Lewison looked about a stone too heavy IMO, first time I ever seen him, but he looked too comfy throwing one shot at a time.

I should add, out of politeness, that I won my tickets from HENCH, the sponsors of the show. They do clothes and that, my sister got a free t-shirt from them and its good quality.
