A friend in Russia posted this on a forum I visit:

About 5 months ago, I bought a Russian made heavy punching bag, and about a week ago the whole top ripped off. I literally came into the garage and was laying on the floor.

The bag was too heavy for the pseudo leather container. (I ripped it on my first 5 punches, and no I am not bragging. My six year could rip it.)

I was at the "Extreme Sports mall" on Saturday and was looking at camping gear and boxing gear. My normal indication would be to pay "Everlast" equipment which I think is made in the US and is basically indestructible.

They didn't have Everlast but they did have "Greenhill" and a bunch of Russian types which I don't trust.

On the internet, Greenhill which is sold in the UK, seems to be popular with boxing gyms and looks good. Is it any good??

Thanks for any advice.

Greenhill were a big supplier of AMA gloves, headguards etc for many years. (Now Adidas seem to be the prefered)

We have many Greenhill gloves and headguards in the gym all of them have been a quality buy. They cost more than some of the other brands but they last much longer and seem to be of a better quality, when it comes to fit,comfort, and standard of leather PU etc they are worth it.

I have never seen or used a Greenhill bag before but as a company the products I have used have always been top notch.
