As some of you may know im a big fan of his as i think he's got a great boxing brain! Whats happened to him though? He seems to of completely disappeared off the radar! Its a shame because he has a lot of talent but it seems like it might go to waste.

That would be a good fight! If he cant get Witter then maybe he should try and get Colin Lynes or Denton Vassell or Matthew Hatton. I think they'd all be good fights at this stage in his career.

Vassell will fight Purdy, in September it looks like on Barker bill. Witter will fight Hatton. He should take an internatioal 10 rounder by which time he sould be mandatory to fight the Witter/Hatton winner.

He should of been fighting this Saturday but pulled out due to being worried about consequences from the bbbofc which is understandable ! He will beat anyone in the uk including kell brook !

4 years as a pro, and moving very slow compared to the rest.

I rate Gavin but beating Kell Brook I highly doubt, at the minute he's british level, stick him in with someone like David Barnes or Adil Anwar and see how he gets on.

Not been active enough for me but hope he does well

I think Lee Purdy v Frankie would be an excellent bout; I'd like to see him box more often; he is very good on his day.

What's happened to DeGale? He's another one, a waste of talent really, he needs someone to get him some good bouts and get moving up else he may lose heart and pack up.

DeGale was offerd Stevenson in a IBF eliminator but his promoter didnt want it apparently or his promotional issues at mo made it to difficult to make.

I think that would be a good test. Hatton is by no means a world beater but he's an ex european champion and has fought some decent fighters so it would be good to see how Frankie would do against him.

It's going to be hard to get fights for him, because of his restrictive contract.

Why should Witter, as champion, take the short end of the stick? He's British champion, former world champ at a lower weight... Frankie as a pro is a nobody. Who's beaten nobody.

The only way he's going to get anywhere is to rip up that contract and insist that he's on every bill for the next 12 months, then start to make a proper move up the ranks.

If they aren't going to do that, he might as well give up and get a job.

He's a great lad and has ridiculous ability, but he couldn't have been handled worse. Some of his problems have been of his own doing, but where's the help been?

What is his restrictive contract then mate?

He's got a minimum guarantee per fight, has had since he turned pro.

By all accounts he was bordering on EBU title money for 6x3's, which is frankly ridiculous.

Because he's on that kind of money, Warren can't put him on often.

Yeah makes sense! Do you know if his contract with Warren is going to be expiring anytime soon? Be interesting to see if Eddie Hearn and matchroom take an interest in him.

If his pro rata is too high then Eddie is unlikely to pay over the odds; it's circumstances that have forced Frank W's hand surely? He'd have wanted the best for all his stable and at one time Frankie was very well known and a 'sure thing'.

He's not long signed another one, might have a couple of years left to run.

If he wants to go to Hearn, he'll have to have the going rate, which will no doubt be a lot less for a lad at his level. That amateur gold medal can't and shouldn't be a meal ticket for life.

The shit hit the fan when Khan left - because the money was coming in, the deals for DeGale, Gavin etc were affordable.

The problem was that they weren't getting any publicity, so their following remains stagnant. Frankie these days is a nobody unfortunately, an expensive one.

It's him and only him that can solve this mess, by taking a huge paycut and fighting more often. The sure thing is a sure thing no more. He's nearly 27, the same age that Hatton was already on the slide by.

Frankie Gavin and James DeGale...the forgotten men of British boxing.

Says on twitter he's fighting in september in the new season. Shame he's not more active as seems to have sorted his head out.

I only bet money I can afford to lose so you must be richer than me. If he's not more active his talent will ebb and he'll find boxng a lot harder sport than he has done.
