Miguel Cotto

Cotto meets a genuinely talented opponent tonight in Sosa. Having only lost twice (to Floyd Mayweather Jnr & Paul Spadofora, going the distance with both!) is tonight the night that Cotto truely "arrives"?

After beating Demetrio Ceballos on the DLH/Mosley undercard, Cottos team stated a world title challenge was in order in 2004. I note the Ceballos fight was to become WBA No.1 challenger so is a potential fight with Vivian Harris in the pipeline for 2004 I wonder?

Failing that, I know a WBU title holding Mancunian who would make a good matchup.... :D

Just been watching a few of his fights again on video this evening. Cotto really is class... (if you didn't already know... )

I like Cotto alot, best prospect around and tonight he's jumping from being a prospect, to a genuine contender providing he wins.

Sosa is big (even at 140), strong and tough. Has quick hands also. If Cotto isn't the real deal, then we will find out tonight.

All his fights have been one sided, as he has outclassed his opponents. Barely a punch has been landed. Tonmight he WILL get hit back, and his chin will be tested to an extent.

Sosa is great value at 7-1. I'd expect Cotto to win, but a Sosa upset is a definate possibility.

Actually Loft , Sosa has 3 losses in his career the 1st being a 2nd rd KO to antonio ramirez in 96.

I am watching my copy of mayweather-ndou and everytime I watch it I am kind of wishing that Ndou was fighting Cotto.

Why?

He'd get ripped apart even easier. If he can't take a non-punching lightweight dig, then he wouldn't be able to take a big punching light welter dig would he?
