I cant understand why they cant just add the result and write underneath 'Unlicensed by the BBBofC'.

The Matt Hall fight was listed as 'unsanctioned' after it finished but now has disappeared.

Probably because if it was listed as Unsanctioned it would be wrong. As has been banged on about for ages now.

Hasn't this always been the way they've treated unlicensed fights though? You can't just go around making exceptions just because it is high profile and has a lot of money behind it. If you do that then you may as well join the Tory party

I'm no expert but if it's licensed by an EBU affiliated organisation then why not put the results up? If the bill had taken place in Romania or somewhere then it would be listed.

I am not that bothered about the main event recognition; or lack of it. Haye and Chisora will cop a few quid for this no doubt. No recognition needed for them. What about the undercard fighters ? Good honest pros like Walsh and Hall, whose efforts are being overlooked ?

Just because the new British Boxing Clique (Adam Smith, Eddie Hearn et al) didnt approve of the promotion, does that mean it needs ignoring.

It was licensed by an EBU affiliated body and also by the WBA and WBO so in no way is this fight unlicensed.
Boxrec need to sort there selves out. It cant be take serious as a source for boxers records if there going to pick and choose like this.

See, here's the thing. It's now Sunday 15th July. The EBU tells me that the LBF are now expelled. But they weren't when the fight was on. So, that's an issue which is very interesting.

But please don't throw in the WBA and WBO if you want to add or create any kind of legitimacy. One of the belts was, quite literally, made up a few weeks ago. To say they have licensed or sanctioned a bout has as much legitimacy as saying that the dog down the road licenses or sanctions me to step in its excrement.

If BoxRec's view is that it does not recognise fights that happen in Britain that aren't licensed by the BBBoC, so be it, and the sport in terms of governance in Britain will almost certainly be better off for it.

I do understand why people will think it detracts from the site though. Boxing records have always been a point of contention and, perhaps, people have forgotten this.

If boxrec were that concerned about the integrity of their data then sorry, Rocky Fieldings fight last week against a guy who didn't belong in a sandpit, let alone a boxing ring, would have been quietly overlooked. At the end of the day the Klitchko v Thompson fight created absolutely no interest whatsoever. The Haye v Chisora fight was of interest to the British boxing public. It should therefore appear on both boxers' records.

You can't overlook fights because an opponent is shite, as you rightly point out in Fielding's case. I'm not sure what you're saying re Wlad v Thompson. There's a case to say that the fight should appear on both Haye and Chisora's records...but it isn't because the public were interested in it.

Haye vs Chisora was clearly a proper professional fight.

If it is not put on their records and is considered to be an "unlicensed" fight, then it just makes unlicensed fights seem a hell of a lot more legitimate, and a lot more people are going to think "who cares if a fight is licensed or not?".

Unlicensed fights could be getting a huge boost if Haye vs Chisora is considered to be such a fight.

I agree it should be listed on here, Okay the LBF have since been voted out of the EBU because of it but the WBA and WBO still sanctioned it knowing that they might a few quid out of the winner possibly going in with Wladimir K for a World title crack at some point (in theory).

Aren't all fights in Thailand unlicensed?

Perhaps you can campaign to get all records updated regardless of the sanctioning body?

Like this one for instance.
