Don't brt on boxing with boylesports

Bet 300 quid on haye inside the distance at 3.2 back in may. Log in today to find the bet cancelled because of 10 rounds instead of 12. I argue that if anything I was at a disadvantage but they basically give me a custard pie. Is there anything I can do?

I'd have thought so - you bet on Haye inside the distance a while back, and if anything the fight being shortened worked against you.

Given the generous odds that they put out on the stoppage when the markets opened they'll look for any excuse to get out of the bets - it seems everyone lumped on, betting it down to even money.

I've never had any bother with Boyles, other than getting them to refund me on a bet I had on Sam Sexton to stop Hastings Rasani, a fight that never happened... which they did a couple of days later in fairness.

I think I remember reading a post from Hagler recently in which he had exactly the same issue with another fight.

I did the same mate. Had 100 quid on the Haye stoppage at 2/1. Utterly ridiculous but it seems that all bookies did the same so I don't think we have a leg to stand on unfortunately mate.

I am not sure it ever WAS actually scheduled to be over 12 rounds, officially.

The contracts were signed for a 10 round fight and they boxed over 10.

Warren clarified the situation in The Sun according to fightnews .com:

In his weekly column in The Sun tabloid, promoter allegedly explained why tonight’s grudge match between David Haye and Dereck Chisora will be a ten-round bout instead of the normal championship distance of twelve rounds. “When the original contract for the fight was signed, it was over ten rounds and sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation, but when the WBO and WBA titles were added to the bout it was hoped that the fight would be extended to the championship distance of twelve rounds. Haye was adamant that he would only fight over ten rounds and stuck with the original contract, with Chisora angry that a former world champion wouldn’t face him over the full distance.”

I went with PaddyPower and they paid out, they also did odds on the end coming 1-5 or 6-10 tho so they may have just been more organised.

William Hill did the same with me, luckily I looked into my account when I read about it only being ten rounds and put the bet on again

Does anyone know if the fight was advertised as 12 rounds on the Boylesports website. I have no recollection, I think it was just haye v chisora. When I look at my bet history it has no reference to the number of rounds. Given the above quotes it appears that boylesports were simply making an assumption and I dont see why the should be able to just cancel bets after holding my money for 2 months.

I've just checked my Paddy Power account and they had the same problem. I placed mine over a week ago on Haye 1-6. They also had a market for Haye 7-12 at the time. Just discovered my bet was void.

I had mine in a double with a Khan KO. Have to admit i'd be more than a bit pissed off had it won and i was only paid £90 rather than £400

They stated that if you bet before it changed then your bet void, so your fault for not checking

I had the same - bet £200. I am gutted esp as I replaced the bet with a double Haye inside / Khan inside....

It was the Matthysse-Soto fight. To the original poster you haven't got a leg to stand on. Unfortunately you'll have to take it on the chin and move on.

This is disgusting. I would write to the ombudsman (there must be one);I would also write to the boxing press.

I thought people might be interested to know i put my case to ibas and won. It was a long process but I just withdrawn my 660 winnings that boylesports were forced to pay. Those who also bet should do the same.

Fair play to you bud, i'll be using that in future. Just been taking a certain bookie for a few quid due to being very slow at updating live game odds and they've tried to hold back some of my winnings. Im not 100% clean with this though as it was taking advantage of their sloppiness

Once had a one off big bet on Barrichello to win Austrian GP years ago at a local bookies. I sat watching the race in the pub and walked over to the bookies to watch the last few laps. £200 at about evens, watched nervously and low and behold, Ferrari ordered Barrichello to let Schumacher pass him on the last lap.

I was so pissed off, absolutely furious. I tried to phone any Ferrari number I could find trying to get in touch with someone to give em a round of fucks, but to no avail. Wish Twitter had been around then, would have hassled them for months.

I've been burnt by F1 in the past but never with that much on the line. Team orders are shite!

I suspect because they have paid me they will pay you as ibas have set a precedent. I think it costs them cash every time they have to use ibas.
