Tyson Fury: The man who promised the boxing public that his next fight would be against Wladimir Klitschko after disposing of Del Boy Chisora in 2011. The man who then relinquished his British title simply to avoid the challenge of David Price. The man who fights Vinny "middle aged punchbag" Maddalone and considers it to be impressive.

Is it just me who hasn't been drawn into his farcical career? Is it not just Mick Hennessy protecting the only jewel in his crown?

I agree, great jab, good athleticism for a big guy, but who has he proved it against?

I think after he relinquished the British and Commonwealth belts to avoid David Price alot of people questioned his heart and credibility but money talks and if he lost that fight it would have been seriously damaging to his world title charge.

He said it was time to move on towards a world title but surely you would wants to prove your credentials against the best in your division domestically ?

Really needs to step up now and fight some decent opponents before he starts to lose even more credibility.

Resume Fury is ahead Pricey ,his one win over Chisora is better than anything David has done yet ,just remember Fury become the British and commonwealth champion and hes only 23 ,if you dont respect that then your just a hater .
I dont blame Fury for not fighting price ,i mean why should he when the klichkos have been mentioning his name as one of their next opponent choices,so why would Fury risk a fight for the world crown by taking a fight with the likes of David Price ? wouldn't make sense would it .

I don't think Mick Hennesey does Tyson any favours when he's interviewed after his fights and starts bigging him up to ridiculous proportions. I'm all for selling your fighter but Mick goes way overboard at times.

I found the last fight the opposite tbh, i think Mick said we will fight for a world title when we are ready to win it !
I like fury very much but the jury's still out for me

Fury is talented and will test Price if they fight. People forget that him and Price in reality couldnt fight at the time! Well not at Furys end anyway, the only way the fight could of happened is if Price went over to fight Fury on 5 because if Fury would of agreed to fight Price on sky he would of been in breach of his contract with sky. People need to realise that! They made Price a 100k offer to fight Fury on 5 but Maloney and Price turned it down.

True after the Maddalone fight he compared him to Larry Holmes !!!

Going off what Hennesey says post fight and Fury in interviews I reckon he will fight opponents similar and slightly better than Maddalone throughout the UK and Ireland to build his fanbase until the KBros vacate and then challenge for a World Title which won't be that difficult to arrange. No way will he fight a Klitschko.

I like Furys personality he love him or hate him he is a character and recently has looked pretty good in the ring his conditioning has improved a lot as well.

Fury is ok but nothing special

Fury is only 24 and still has many years ahead of him. Those who knock him and say he is having a farce career are really out of touch with the sport of boxing imho. We aint talking about Joe Mesi or Faruq Saleem here who fought 5-4-0, 0-2-0, 4-3-0, etc type opponents. For being his age, in just two years time he has become a respectable heavyweight and could quite possibly be a champion one day.

The problem for me is balancing the hype with the reality.... If he and Hennesy came out and were realitic then I wouldn't have a problem. He's 24 and has plenty of learning to do and is miles away from being a legitimate threat to the top 3 or 4 fighters in the division. That isn't how he is being sold at all though. He's the ring ranked #9 fighter, he keeps talking about being able to beat anyone out there and his team keep talking about one or two more fights then we will do this and that, but his opposition and performances don't match the hype. Hennesy said, after the mismatch Maddalone fight, that they were looking at Adamek.... Not only are they mentioning a guy the best part of a foot shorter than him, but Tyson has the brass balls to say he would stop him too easily when the reality is they are unlikely to go anywhere near Adamek anyway as they simply arent ready for him yet. Quit talking bollocks would be my advice to team Fury....

I agree entirely. I do understand he's 23 etc...But my negative views on Tyson come from his promoter bigging him up to high heaven. Don't promise fights with Klitschkos, don't say you'll take on anyone, and then relinquish when a genuine challenge comes along

Since then he's fought Nicolai Firtha, Neven Pajkic, Martin Rogan, Vinny Maddalone, now the nonsense about Adamek...in other words still no nearer to Klitschko. It's not the fans wrongly being disappointed by Tyson, it's the hype coming from his own camp which constantly deceives the boxing public.

In Nov 2011 they promised that basically before May 2013 he will have beaten Povetkin, and will have beaten the Klitschkos. Can't really see that happening now, can you?

No one claimed in those articles that Fury would box for a world title immediatly after beating Chisora or that Fury will have defeated Povetkin by a certain date.

I believe he meant in 18 months Fury will be ready to fight and beat the Klitschkos, not that in 18 months he will have beaten both of the Klitschkos and Povetkin.

I like the bloke. Good speaker too when he is not over excited!

Seems to have got himself in shape. Lacks power and is easy to hit. Will be fun following him once he steps up a level after his past two fights. They were pointless. I started watching but actually switched over after about a round.

He's a young fighter, who has an excellent record and is steadily improving as a boxer... His only problem is that he's not yet ready for a Klitchsko Brother.
