Last night at the Hull KR v Hull FC match, Tommy Coyle said on the pitch at half time that he was scheduled to face Carl Johanneson in an eliminator for the British lightweight title in Hull on 29th September.
Interesting match up, a decent scalp for Tommy Coyle if he can win this one.

Tommy is a strong and determined lad in 3 fights or so would easily be able to challenge most of the domestic lightweights imo

He was down on here to face Martin Gethin, but think Gethin has a shot at the commonwealth title now

Johanneson is one of my favorite British fighters, I hope his got enough left to win this one !

I agree with that Johanneson is/was a great 10-12 round boxer he just increases the pace as he goes along. getting on a bit now & probably ready for the taking by these up & comers now.

Is this a final eliminator?

Johanneson has already won a British title eliminator a few months ago against Goodwin.
