Tough draw for Joshua.

If youve got sky all the boxing is live on it. BBC have made 24new channels so all sports can be live on the tele. Channel 450 and upwards i think.

Luke Campbell has a bye then and Anthony Ogogo on about 3pmish today.

Yes looks a tough start for Joshua, but to win gold you've got to beat the best i guess. If Ogogo wins his first match, he'll probably have to then face world No1 Ieygev Khytrov, after the Ukrainian recieved a bye in the first round. And Fred Evens gets Algerian Ilyas Abbadi, who i would expect Evens to beat, but then he might have to face Lithuanian Egidijus Kavaliauskas , who beat Evens in the worlds.

The draw has been favourable for Selby and Campbell, and i would expect then to reach the semi's at least.

The 3 girls , Savannah Marshall and Nicola Adams have recieved byes in the first round, but Natasha Jonas has Katie Taylor in her half of the draw and it would mean facing the Irish girl in the quarter finals, but first Jonas has to take on American Quanitta Underwood in the first round, no easy task in its self.

Ogogo's got the top seed next ain't he? Looked ok today but will defo need to up his work rate to go further.

yep, the world number 1 from the Ukraine is going to be a tough fight for Anthony, in his advantage though his got the first fight out of the way and has the home support behind him, he needs to be with in 2 points going into the last to have any chance for this one, stranger things have happened, let's see

First time I've seen Ogogo. He looked pretty basic to me, so if the Ukrainian is as billed I think he'll struggle.

The standard of Olympic boxing isn't usually all that great, so it's bad luck that he's got such a tough draw.

It's all about the draw, yes you have to beat anyone to get a gold but it can be unfair for very good boxers who might possibly grab a bronze, but I disagree about the olympic standard, everyone has to qualify for the games apart from former winners, we done well to get 7 men through and believe you me if more then half win a medal that's a great achievement ! But we need at least 1 gold and 1 silver to show the world we are the new boys to beat in Olympic boxing !

I have only seen Savon in the worlds last year and it seemed like he could be thrown off his gameplan if the opponent comes in aggressive. If big Joshua can let it all hang out I think the Cuban will fold.

Was seated next to 6 weapons of the absolute highest order. Bear swiggling, football chanting, noisy dickheads

Also, the booing of certain boxers due to nationality was bang out of order. The USA dude got it the worst

There is nothing to disagree on, anyone who's watched a few different Olympics can see that the standard of a lot of boxers isn't actually that great. The bottom line you can only have one boxer from each country in each weight class. If you were aloowed more than one, half of these guy's wouldn't be there. I'm not trying to take away from the achievement of winning gold, but it's just a fact.

I thought the opening ceremony was cring factor for the boxing team, Andrew Selby wearing sun glasses and coming right up to the camera with his Brap Brap Brap.

Anyone going on the 8th? And did anyone see the American lad stop his opponent with 0 seconds left on the clock in the last round, i thought he was behind on points as well!!

Also just read that Ogogo's mum suffered a brain haemorrhage 6 weeks ago and is still laid up in bed , shows what type of focus he has had to show to be able to box.
