No, completely disagree - and I've been calling the other ones, by the way.tonyevs wrote:A disgusting result. Probably the worse result i have seen so far.
An even first round. From then on he was a clear loser.
Disgusting. No way did he deserve the verdict. Results like this highlight just what a shit sport the amateur sport is.
Not loading up...hmmm....broomy7s wrote:Defo getting the nod on a few close decisions. He fought his heart out there tho. Is it me or do the count back scores add up to 53-52? http://www.london2012.com/boxing/event/ ... -145706283
You're in the minority then, the Ukrainian walked him down in rounds 2 and 3 landing solid shots, pinning him up against the ropes. Forcing 2 standing counts, Ogogo couldn't keep him off.dondada wrote:No, completely disagree - and I've been calling the other ones, by the way.tonyevs wrote:A disgusting result. Most of the world champ's work was absorbed by Ogogo's gloves. I thought the lad did really well - very close contest.
How do you know I'm in the minority? One of the standing counts was utter shite, for a start. You can walk someone down and hit arms and gloves all day, it means nowt. He scored plenty though, I know that.Hagler2002 wrote:You're in the minority then, the Ukrainian walked him down in rounds 2 and 3 landing solid shots, pinning him up against the ropes. A good fight but there was a clear winner. The Ukrainian.
Oh oh, you're right pal...FFSdondada wrote:Not loading up...hmmm....broomy7s wrote:Defo getting the nod on a few close decisions. He fought his heart out there tho. Is it me or do the count back scores add up to 53-52? http://www.london2012.com/boxing/event/ ... -145706283

An appeal looks likely, after all he is the world champion.G0mez wrote:I think we will defo see an investigation into that fight.
Agogo negated a lot of his opponents efforts, but thought he was knackered on a count back.
Did you see that dodgey looking man with a hat on???broomy7s wrote:Defo getting the nod on a few close decisions. He fought his heart out there tho. Is it me or do the count back scores add up to 53-52? http://www.london2012.com/boxing/event/ ... -145706283
Watched it again, it was very very close, ogogo wasn't really getting hit flush when on the ropes, the ukraine guy walked forward and finished strong but it don't matter, it's about landing more and I feel they landed around the same amount of punches clean, a good fight, I wouldn't of moaned if it went the other way, it was first called a draw which IMO was a fair result, for every biased opinion there's a overly unbiassed controversial one too !tonyevs wrote:Ogogo looked lucky to stay on his feet a couple times.
I understand some people here being blindly biased .. but just re-watch the fight.
Ogogo was gassed from mid way through the 2nd rnd.
The 3rd was all the Ukranian kid.
Disgusting result imo
I saw it exactly as you did, jessi - and I'm certainly not a cheerleader - I thought Joshua was clearly beaten, for example.jessi wrote:Watched it again, it was very very close, ogogo wasn't really getting hit flush when on the ropes, the ukraine guy walked forward and finished strong but it don't matter, it's about landing more and I feel they landed around the same amount of punches clean, a good fight, I wouldn't of moaned if it went the other way, it was first called a draw which IMO was a fair result, for every biased opinion there's a overly unbiassed controversial one too !tonyevs wrote:Ogogo looked lucky to stay on his feet a couple times.

The appeal by Ukraine against Ogogo win over Khytrov dismissed. 'No special grounds' for the appeal say AIBA.
Boxing is dodgy at all levels. Ogogo didnt win, however there is too much money incentives for the winner of the gold medal and thats why there is so much cheating.Poncey wrote:Wow![]()
This reminds me of when Phelps didn't win the 2008 gold medal they said he did.
