Fighting Janne "Finnish Butterbean" Katajisto on September 8 isn't enough pain in one month for Danny so he's also fighting Christian Hammer on the 28th in Germany on a card that will be live on Eurosport.

From what I've seen of Hammer, he has decent power and is on a similar level to someone like Sprott.

We know that Danny doesn't need the money, the only conclusion I can come to now based on what I've heard is that he just enjoys fighting, though god knows why after being brutally sparked by Leif Larsen last time out.

Both these guys the Finn in particular are not very good at all, certainly no where near Leif Larsen (who is no World beater himself but obviously is above the current version of Williams.) I'd imagine Williams will beat the Finn because he hasn't been losing to the complete dross he has faced lately.

I certainly don't see Danny's demise as that bad. His punch resistance is shot but offensively he does pose problems for opponents. He isn't like Julius Francis in his late career who hardly ever got stopped but lost to literally everyone he faced and hardly threw a punch in any of those late fights.

I disagree. The Finn is horribly out of shape but is skilled (beat Helenius in the amateurs). Hammer only lost an MD to Bydenko who is a solid Euro level journeyman on a similar level to Sprott.

Larsen's power is world class but there's not much to him other than that. He's very sloppy and painfully slow. I reckon someone like Sprott or Bydenko would be able to keep out of the way of his power shots and outbox him to a decision.

I see Danny losing both these fights - in Finland he will lose a close decision, while I reckon Hammer will stop him.

I agree Hammer should stop him, but I don't buy the Finn being any good at all. Incidentally the Finn has a draw on his record that should make us all count our blessings with the scoring we have in this country. The scores were something along of the lines of 80-72 to one guy, 80-72 to the other guy and a draw from the third judge.

I saw that - his opponent was Latvian journeyman Pavels Dolgovs - and the judge who scored it 80-73 to Dolgovs was former Latvian journeyman Jevgenijs Stamburskis who fought the likes of Rogan, Perez and Dallas. Wouldn't surprise me at all if they were friends, which would explain the decision.

Boxers nick-naming themselves after famous predecessors are almost always a) looking for a gimmick, and b) not as good as who they're naming themselves after. The White Tyson, Young Joe Louis, The Dutch Sonny Liston, etc... So if we apply that logic to "The Finnish Butterbean", he's not going to have even a fraction of the talent of a guy who was closer to a laughing stock than a contender...
