Unfortunately if he is seen to be co-operating with the fuzz he may never be able to feel safe again, not just in Ireland.
The sad fact is the people who did this to him clearly know who he is and probably would do something worse if he was to talk with the police.
Eamonn's a strong character but if he talks it might mean other peoples wellbeing at stake.
I'd like to wish Eamonn a swift recovery from his injuries and i hope to see him get back to what he does best in the near future.

Christ, do you blame him, Bennie ?
He is right to keep his counsel.

bennie,
The Independent is wrong on this one, mate. Eamonn is talking to the police. He wants to see the person/people prosecuted. I must say I'm surprised, but the source is pretty reliable.

I'd like to withdraw my speculations posted earlier, and good on Eamonn for wanting to see justice done.

Also, to add, he was not driving the car, his friend was. The gang didn't manage to get him properly out of the car, his mate hung on to him.
A car pulled up in front of them, blokes jumped out smashed the windscreen with bats opened the passenger door, started beating Eamonn and trying to get him out of the car.
The doctors have told him there is hardly any chance of him boxing again.
It's a personal dispute, I was wrong to suggest it was probably sectarian yesterday.
