Well Sprott has got the experience and pedigree when you look at his record to give Gerber a few problems. But I just that feel age is catching up with him and I reckon Gerber will beat him on this one. I hope I am wrong though.

I can see Sprott winding down his career much the way Julius Francis did.

His weight seems to be going up which indicates he may not be training the way he used to.

no telling which Sprott will turn up. should be the 'last the distance' one.
Sprott and Skelton should be given the likes of Towers, Cornish and whyte.
altho they'd probably have too much even at this stage

Sprott assaulted the referee after being deemed unfit to continue; they made up though.

Was it a dodgy stoppage? Fair play to the ref for taking it on the chin.

Anyone know how the scoring was going prior to that?

I didn't see the fight and don't know how the judges scored the rounds, but according to an article on BS Sprott was doing very well.

did look a bit of a dodgy stoppage but shit, look at some of the stoppages we see in uk!! sprott was obviously hurt and dropped but he has a history of relatively quick recovery (pele reid fight!!). sprott 'old manned' himself to the neutral corner, made himself look stable by holding the top rope, lifted his arms when the ref was on about 7...so the ref stopped it.
rhinos opinion........................... poor premature stoppage!

There is no debate here - it was an outrageous stoppage. Watch the footage clearly here and see how the ref ripped Sprott off:

Also, Sprott slightly shoved the ref, prompting the homosexual flouncing facefirst to the floor. One of the most pathetic performances by a referee in the entire history of the sport. Can you imagine how he would have survived Tyson/Savarese?

Oh dear, not like Sprott that. The ref seemed to take it well, bad stoppage or not, fair play to them for kissing and making up.

He did not hit him, he lightly shoved him.

Just wondering where the homosexual thing comes in to it, bit of a strange comment.
Oh and I think the ref did the right thing falling to the floor. If he stayed on his feet then what was coming next, a three punch combination to the head?

Ive seen long term bans for less, you can't lay hands on the ref. Thing is Sprott is one of the nice guys in boxing.

It was incredibly camp and homosexual, the manner he fell. At least in my opinion. But we can't all be uber masculine alpha males like I am.

Doesn't happen too often but now and again it spills over.
A couple that come to mind, Merqui Sosa after being stopped by Roy Jones (1998 maybe?) and last year Affif Belghecham attacked the ref after being prematurely stopped by Anthony Fitzgerald on the Casey-Rigondeaux undercard.

In the heat of the moment people do things tho. I can sympathise when someone does this considering how much money is sometimes on the line for pro boxers.

Agree but you cant lay hands on the ref, otherwise you'd get every ref on a certain channel Ko'd every week with early stoppages

Seeing your the expert in this type of stuff, did the referee get an erection when Sprott hugged him at the end? I did
