Ali man! Let's be realistic. Ali was too big, too fast, stronger, and lacking not in heart. You gotta take Ali over anyone really... Marciano would make a heck of a Cruiserweight today!

Ali would win this one soundly on points i feel. Although, dont rule out Marciano because he was small. After all ali had considerable size advantages over Smoking joe....

I pick Ali by late cuts TKO or decision, but it's not a good idea to just assume this is a mismatch or anything of the sort. Ali was visibly wobbled in the first round against 185-lb. Doug Jones and knocked down and very hurt by 188-lb. Henry Cooper. Marciano's swarming, Frazier-like style would trouble Ali, and of course both of those fighters I just listed weighed well within Marciano's weight range, and both had a lot of success against Ali. It's stupid to dismiss Marciano because of size. I still think that Ali would win based on his very large range and speed advantages, though.

Marciano by late rounds stoppage or decision, much in the way Joe Frazier beat Ali.

I was just thinking of the many similarities between prime Frazier and Marciano. I still think Ali would win, but it would be one HELL of a fight.

if he can cope with george foremans power (circa 1974) especially taking so many shots with his rope a dope tactics he could cope with the rocks destructive punches imo.
p.s i know he took a lot of these on the arms but have you seen that clip of foreman against frasier i think when smoking joe`s bobbin` n` weaving on the ropes and george just clubs him with these brutal swings come hooks to the arms and body. even foremans blocked shots in this period were destructive.

Id pick Marciano to win but not by much i say it would go to SD or UD in 15.

I think the Ali of about 1967 would stop Marciano in about 10 or 12 rounds he'd be too fast and strong for Rocky and he'd cut him up and either win by ko or stoppage. Despite what many say Ali was a very physically strong and a much better puncher than he was given credit for.

Ali would bust up Marciano, Ali too fast, good chin and too big. If Walcott and Moore
could batter Marciano, then Ali could add to the punishment.

Ali vs Rocky(IN THE RING

)
"It's science fiction...Sure it upsets me but it is just a make believe fight. People have seen me in the ring for the last time. I'll never fight again."

I have to agree with you on this one Silkov.
Larry Holmes has stated many times that Ali was a master of wrestleing on the inside, he knew exactly how to use his weight to lean on and tie up a fighter, this was very tireing for the opponent, this fact would also be a factor against Rocky, whom I have a lot of respect for but I think Ali beats him.

by chance
I love this question. Answer is simple. Marciano. Any one who watched films of Ali fight knows the man bailed out high and always moved to his left. Doing so makes you very easy to hit with a good right hand. Marciano could cut of the ring and had one of the best right hands in boxing. Granted Ali was the bigger faster man, and he had a splended sense of range and timing. But in the end I don't think he had the power to stop Marciano, and he would give up a lot of his reach advantage because he jabbed off his front foot, while marciano kept his weight back on his right foot. Basic fundementals folks. Would have been a great fight to watch though. Both men had alot of heart. Its just a case of styles make a fight. In this case Marcianos style and power would probobly make up for his physical inequities.
